salaamun alaikum,

Our MSA needs some ideas and suggestions that will make the Muslims at our college more
pro-active (we were very inactive before) and involved. So please if you have any ideas
(in general) please reply. thanks.

This is like one of those "How can we improve the Ummah?" questions. ;)  Is there an answer? answers? There's so much involved and so much to take into consideration.

It really depends on a lot of factors.... Is your MSA brand new? Are you a well established MSA that is now in decline? What is the population of Muslims at your school -- are they secular, in need of knowledge, in need of unity etc...

Do you just need creative ideas for events? Or ways to get more people to come to your events? Give us some more details!! :)

The MSA-National web page now has its own Message board which could be a good resource for the kind of ideas that you are looking for.

Check it out:

I am not sure, since i'm a freshman. But we are well established and I am
assuming we were once big (because we have our own prayer hall and wudhu area). However for
the past couple of years we have been on the decline. For example last year at our meetings
only the executives came and maybe 2 other general members. At islamic awareness week ..
it was mostly non-Muslims. And other instances like that. We have plenty of money. We are
having a "Welcome back" bbq.. but what other things can we do?

as salaamu alaykum,

haha.. well that's actually a good thing I think :)  usually at our Islam Awareness Week (which is supposed to be directed at non-Muslims) we have a majority Muslim audience  ::)

:-[ social activities usually bring in a lot of people.. maybe during ramadan you guys can have an iftaar dinner on campus?

take care :)

wasalaamu alaykum
