| [slm] This question has been in my mind for a couple of months and I haven't found the answer to it from the net, I browsed through many Islamic sites. I wanted to ask, what happens to the children, especially if they are real young, if the mother dies. Islamically, who gets them? Or can a mother write a will of some sort stating who she wants to give her children in case she dies? If the father is not able to care for them properly, then can the mother state that she wants so and so to have her children? Is there any Islamic ruling on this? I would really appreciate some feedback. JazakAllah [wlm] |

| [wlm] No rulings here... check with the Imam... Has the wife discussed this with her husband? Are both families Muslim? What has the husband said? Does he want to give up the right to raise his children? Or is it a case that the wife feels her husband should not raise her children, because of abuse or other socially unacceptable reasons? |
