assalaamu alaikum

Did anyone watch "Palestine is still the issue" by John Pilger? I thought it was quite a good documentary.

I recorded it on VHS, and was wondering what the quickest way is to convert it to DVD so that i can distribute copies of it to friends in the US.

You won't get great quality from VHS to DVD. Because one is analogue and the other digital.
To burn a DVD you need to digitalise your VHS first. Get it onto your hard disk. For this you need the relevant hardware (eg Pinnacle) and lots and lots of memory on your hard disk. Digitalise the VHS at a high resolution for the best results.  Depending on your computer, this will take ages to do.
Once you have the film on your computer, and assuming you have the appropriate DVD burner and software, you can burn copies of it onto DVD.

Oh! I just realised if you have a DVD recorder, then you could probably hook up your VHS player to it and directly burn your DVDs.

slm,

yep.. eleanore is right.. you can use your own computer, but you need a fast computer and a *big* hard drive... and you need a dvd recording drive.

or you could get a dvd recorder unit for your tv, but im not entirely sure all of them allow direct input an recording of vhs...

but in any case, its going to cost you a lot of $$$... i woudl suggest fining out if there is a local business that oes dvd conversions for a fee... it may cost a bit too, but its probably quickest thign to do.

but since it was a broacasted show, its probably opyrighted.. so i woudl contact the station that aired it or the production company of the show and ask if you can order it directly from them :)
