| [slm] Glad to be back here! I need a good list of books aimed at a non-Muslim teenage public, preferably not too heavy, but also informative at the same time. Maybe there are even some books that you read as a young Muslim, that helped you understand Islam better? Or drew you closer to Islam? There is a young friend (16years) who needs some good books, he is a soon-to-be newbie to Islam, inshaAllah. JazakumAllah for your help, Salam Shahida :-) |

| as salaamu alaykum, good to see you on sis shahida :) some books I would recommend are: the Autobiography of Malcolm X -- it's *really* engaging, interesting, inspiring.. and informative :) Most people I know read it when they were teenagers.. the Complete Idiot's Guide to Islam by Yahiya Emerick -- has good basic info, not too heavy going down [] two other books I can think of that are directed at teenagers are For Heaven's Sake, a Muslim Teenagers Book, by Ruqaiyya Waris Maqsood (author of the infamous Muslim Marriage Guide :)) and a Young Muslim's Guide to the Modern World by Seyyed Hossein Nasr.. that are both good books also.. though I'm not sure if they were quite what you were looking for. hope this is of help inshaAllah :) wasalaamu alaykum. |
