:-*If You Give a Mom a Muffin :-)If you give a Mom a muffin, She'll want a cup of coffee to go with it. She'll pour herself some. :oThe coffee will get spilled by her three year old. She'll wipe it up. Wiping the floor, she will find some dirty socks. She'll remember she has to do some laundry. :'(When she puts the laundry in the washer, She'll trip over some snow boots and bump into the freezer. :PBumping into the freezer will remind her she has to plan dinner for tonight. She will get out a pound of hamburger. She will look for her cookbook (101 Things to Make With a Pound of hamburger). The cookbook is sitting under a pile of mail. :-XShe will see the phone bill which is due tomorrow. She will look for her checkbook. The checkbook is in her purse that is being dumped out by her two year old. :oShe'll smell something funny. She'll change the two year old. While she is changing the two year old the phone will ring. Her four year old will answer it and hang up. :DShe remembers that she wants to phone a friend to come for coffee on Friday. Thinking of coffee will remind her that she was going to have a cup. She will pour herself some. 8)And chances are...... If she has a cup of coffee...... Her kids will have eaten the muffin that went with it. [slm] Due to the overwhelming response (is 2 an overwhelming number ? heh heh 8)) here, direct from SEA, without too many advertisement break and words from the sponsors is the recipe for....*every breath inhaled*....THE DOUGHNUTS 1 kg wheat flour 50 g halaal baking yeast 6 tablespoon of magarine 4 potatoes (boiled and mashed) 2 eggs whipped with 2 tablespoon of sugar bit of salt 2 cups of drinking milk, u know the ones that come in cartons (here is the best part. for variety u can use strawberry flavoured milk or choc flavoured for that slight aroma) Icing sugar or dusting sugar or whatever u call emthingamajig in Lithuania :-[ Righto mix everything and put flour last. Knead till dough is pliant and smooth. Then just tore of some dough and roll em into small balls (smaller than ping pong balls for those who are size-challenged) :-/ Then just fry em. After toasting off the excess oil, roll the doughnut balls with the icing sugar. Be graceful when u do this. Imagine u are rolling in the meadows in Spring ala Lil House on the Prairie (not recommended for those with allergies ::) ) PS for those who insist that doughnuts must have a hole in the middle (same group of peeps who must give the exact change at the check out counter right down to the last 18 cents in 1-cent coins while there is a huge long queue behind em ) u can of course use a doughnut cutter available at the nearest D.I.Y store. While making balls and doughnuts-with-the-hole-in-the-middle, make sure u dust the dough with lil flour to prevent excessive stickiness. PPS U can melt cooking chocolate and dip half the doughnut with it and sprinkle chopped almonds. PPPS And no, I cannot convert the above recipe to the metric form nor can I use American measurements. Blame my parents on my Brit education :o PPPPS The author absolves herself from any claims or suits becos she warns readers that she has not slept the whole night huddled over her laptop trying to beat deadlines. PPPPPS Oh yeah, please do read Bismillah before starting and Alhamdulillah at the end ;D Wassalam |
