| Sharjah Women's Club to host grandma meet Sharjah |By A Staff Reporter | 09-10-2002 gulfnews.com The Sharjah Women's Club will host a three-day conference starting October 21 to highlight the role played by grandmothers in an effort to narrow the generation gap. The event seeks to foster better understanding between grandparents and their grandchildren, a spokeswoman said yesterday. She said the event will highlight the role of grandmothers in the family as they pass on their experience to youngsters and attempt to create a dialogue between the elderly and the young. Speakers from the Family Development Department of the Supreme Family Council, the Mothers Council, the Arab Family Organisation, the Sharjah Educational Zone, the Old People Home and the UAE General Women's Union will also tackle allied issues. A documentary film will be screened on the sidelines of the conference, in addition to a workshop titled: 'To Grandma With Love'. |
