| [slm] It was my first time to listen live! I was so excited to hear your voices! I thought the subject was treated very well. I particularly liked how jannah explained at the start what hijab is, for the uninitiated. It's amazing what Sister Merve has been through and how she holds on to what she believes no matter how others react. Imagine being booed out of somewhere, just because you wear hijab..! Well done to y'all. The hecticness behind the scenes didn't come across at all. Jazak Allah for a great show :) |

| [slm] It wasn't a bad show. Here's a brief rundown on what happened. Jannah talked about the hijab and its obligation in Islam, how its not worn for many but for God. Then a very excited Se7en took over the show (watch out Oprah :D ) and talked about how it was such an honor to interview sister Merve and asked her about what it was like growing up in Turkey, the situation there now, and Betul asked a question as well. Barr called in and asked a question about the empowerment of women and Eleanor IMed a question, and some brother in NY called in as well. Everything went pretty smooth in the show, except for one time that Se7en was trying to connect or disconnect some caller (or put them on mute or hold), but it was hardly noticeable, and I imagine that must have freaked Se7en out. All in all it was a very good show and so professional and you all did a very good job, may Allah (SWT) reward you all. p.s. Before the show started there was some Indian show on playing some song called Maria, Maria. Feel free to ask Jannah for a translation of it. :P |

[/quote] Its a good thing Eleanor alerted me on AOL that the show has started, coz, on that Sunday, I suddenly thought Singapore is 13 hours ahead, not 12 hours. ::) If not, I'd be listening to a show by the LGB.... :o and be a blurr confusie queen. Anyways, "jolly good show" (as Br Khalid and Br Hanif would say ;)) to the team mashaALlah. Too bad Sis Merve can't hear me well :( Certainly, I was shocked to hear wot happened to her and the situation with Turkey. May Allah lift the fitnah away and give us guidance, ameen.
