Mission #9: Truth

Asalaamu Alaikum Madina Citizen ;-)

Your mission this week, should you choose to accept it, is the following:

If you were on your death bed and could convey only one piece of Islamic knowledge, what would it be?

As always, should you, or any member of the Madina fail in your mission, the Madina will disavow all knowledge of your actions.

This post will self-destruct in five seconds. (or be moved to the ARK soon)

PS With Ramadhan fast approaching, the deadline for Mission #9 will be this Sunday, midnight EST

To my son I would say the Kalimah and add "Please Allah swt."

Asalaamu Alaikum ;-)

Just to clarify, what message would you pass on as opposed to what would be the last thing you would say.

Guess you can have another go now Sr Kathy ;-)

That would be the message I would pass on to my son! Because other than tawheed- which is obvious,  the one main point I want my son to remember... I want my voice running through his brain saying "Please Allah swt."

His life with out me will be filled with trials and decisions. He may wonder what choices to make and be confused.  A comercial works to sell their product by using a one sentence jingle they want the customer to remember when in the isle making a choice to purchase.

I want this to happen to Ali.  When he is facing a trial and needs to make a decision, I would like him remembering "Please Allah swt- and Insha Allah then he would make the proper coice.

Often people are confused at these times of their lives. I could give him a long letter and explain life's mysteries- but it is often the one or two words of advice our parents give us that we really remember.

As-salaamu 'alaikum wa rahmatullah -

If I could guarantee dying on a deathbed, I guess it would depend on the audience. If it'd be passed down, I think I'd say: "Qul amantu billah thumma'staqim," or "Say: 'I believe in Allah' and then be straight."  Or "Hold fast to the rope of Allah and stay within the jama'ah at all costs."
What would be even better is to memorize key points of the Prophet's (saws) farewell address, but I'm assuming a quick death...
:)
Anyhow, I HOPE I'd conclude it with, insha'Allah:
"Laa ilaha ill-Allah, Muhammadar-RasulAllah."
