Looking for Outstanding Muslim Women

This is from a friend who writes for a magazine. Any ideas for her?? Let me know or msg me and I can give her direct email.

Assalaamu Alaikum

I need your help on something.  I am doing this assignment where I have to
search out Muslim women who have contributed something outstanding to their
respective professions or in their Islamic community.  It is part of that
article that I have done on Islam and feminism. I realize "outstanding" is
relative, however I am having a hard time narrowing the field down to
specifics.  So pretty much anyone who you deem as noteworthy, inspirational,
and extraordinary in what they have accomplishment...is that specific enough?
It could be teachers, leaders, business women, reporters or carpenters. If
someone comes to mind who fits this, let me know.  It would be a plus if you
had contact information for them as well. I am trying to just make a list
before the mid-October, so before then would be appreciated.

It would be extra special if you knew some women who fill this requirement
that are from the west coast. All I am getting are east coasters.

Is this for that ICNA magazine, Al Noor?  One of your friends had written an article in there.  It seems like a pretty good magazine.

Iman Badawi.  Also going through the magazine they mentioned this site (jannah.org) as a good site for older children.

How about Maha El Genaidi. She lives right here in California, as far as I know. Unfortunately, I don't have contact information. Maybe you should try the ING website.
