Had to think of a catchy line, i hope it worked! Must have if you're reading this.   8)

How are we people?  All fine and dandy by the grace of Allah.  I hope.

I'm doing a paper, and yes, it is getting close to crunch time (early next week), so forgive me if its a bit rushed.  I know, i know, i should plan ahead and do all my research well before hand, but that's me and i guess i'll never change. So yes, where was i? My paper.

Focus: The internet and young religious people (Youth and adolescents).   If you're young at heart thats fine too.

So, the question i'm putting forward to all you madinites is:  ........   :-[

Do you find that the internet is a safe, valid and positive way to express and explore your faith and spirituality?

What draws you to websites such as the Madina? Are you able to express yourself here in this cyber-community in a way that you cannot in your real communities?

Any thoughts, from all of you wonderfully groovy people would be much appreciated.   :-*

Jazakamullah khair for your time

Salam alaikum,
Don’t know if I’m groovy, but I’ll answer anyways.   8)

Yes and no. It just depends. There are so many great resources on the internet to learn from. Sites full of wonderful knowledge that is there for the taking. I love the internet and use it day and night. You see, I don’t get out much and that makes it hard to have friends. Alhamdulilah, the internet provides me with a chance of having many friends and acquaintances from all over the world, while not leaving my home. Also, where I live, it is hard and expensive to get English books. The internet is pretty much free.

The bad part about the internet is, you have to know the good from the bad. There is so much false information provided on so many sites, that it could misguide so many.
Also, just using the search engines and such with all those half naked pics of women everywhere is dangerous for our bros. Sometimes these pics just cannot be avoided no matter how hard you try. :( But I think the good outweighs the bad as long as you are careful.

The reason I was drawn to the Madina or Jannah.org is because it has so much dependable information all in one spot and the community here is great.

I think my self expression is pretty much the same wherever I am, internet or the ‘real’ world. But I am able to relate better with a lot of the people I meet online. I think this is because the majority I meet are reverts or have lived in the West.

Sorry I’m not able to help more :) Best of wishes on your paper!

Jazakallah for your reply sis truthfinder.

Over 134 views and only two replies?  Where is everyone?  :)

Not to worry, I'm still working on the paper, cruising through some other sites from other religious youth groups.  The similarities between forum topics is interesting.  I'll continue to check through the ARK, so i'll be 'right.  Just sleep deprived over the next few days  ::).  Just think two weeks and goodbye to uni forever!!!    :o

Make dua for me people!!!

Wassalamu Alaikum
