| Salams, Setting up a wedding services company that caters for the asian community - anybody any ideas for the name? What would be your reaction to a desi name as opposed to an english? Is there anything that would cater for muslims that wedding companies dont do already? All comments welcome! Jazakallah Wasalams |

I think Muslims spend thousands and thousands of dollars on hotels and caterers and cakes and all that junk. I keep thinking, if only we had a Muslim one somewhere. The Muslim community certainly has enough weddings! Many people would certainly love having their wedding at a Muslim hall with Halal food and stuff. Something set up for Muslims, maybe with two halls for separate wedding, women waitresses for one. Ability to have completely closed mehndi parties. Be able to invite nasheed singers or play islamic stuff, have children there.. You know that kind of stuff that is usually difficult or impossible in a hotel. |

| Assalaamu alaikum, PAINDOO EVENTS CATERERS Hehe, I couldn't resist... This is as desi as you can get and it is well recognizable. BTW, this is the name of an actual caterer here! (in desiland). When I first saw the sign I couldn't stop laughing for a while. And there office is in a upscale area.. so I guess they must be doing big business! Wasalaam. |

| Assalamo elikuim How about "Shahana (meaning grand) " for a name ? Shahana Caterers!! "PAINDOO EVENTS CATERERS " I always thought the term "Paindoo" is used to degrade something or body like Paki etc ? Wasalam tq |

I was surprised that you people dont have facilities in the U.S for Muslim weddings.I think we are kinda spoilt here because alhamdulillah our people have made it possible to have halls which can be partitioned or separated,completely halaal food,female waitresses,salaah facilities etc. even though Muslims are a tiny minority. [wlm] |
