| [slm] Has anyone played around with the new Philips DVD player/burner for the TV. I am thinking of getting one of those Insha Allah, and putting all those video lectures on DVD so I can watch them on the computer too. Last I checked they are rather pricey, something like $500-$600. I figure in the next year or two that'll come down in half. Looks like VHS is going to be taking an early retirement 8) |

| [slm] Yeah I'd wait if I were you. I remember when Philips brought out the first DVD player. The price was 12 times what you'd pay now!! I was *dying* to buy one back then - really wanted DVD + Surround Sound - and thought I'd *never* live to afford it. Now we have it and it's no big deal ::) We're still not sure what digital camera to get - every few months a new model comes out with another million pixels.. :o |

| [slm] Yeah, I think I will wait insha Allah. I dunno, im really big on new technology and all hehe. I've seen it around for $899. Yeah over the top I know. It'll probably be for $400 next year. Maybe I'll wait till APEX comes out with a cheap dvd recorder. |
