[slm] [quote]why bother...nobody ever really cares what i say anyways...[/quote] *Shock! Horror!* My jaw is on the floor, and I am slowly picking it up. :) I care! I care! (No one ever cares if I care *snifflez*....wow! we already have something in common ;) ) And I think your suggestion is absolutely beautiful, and to add to it, I would suggest that a baby's name should be one that has Islamic meaning too. I believe that is one of the stated "rights" of a child over his/her parents. Wasalaam. SF. |

as salaamu alaykum, man just because ppl don't respond to a post doesn't mean they don't read or appreciate it!! maybe they can't really think of a way to respond, or they don't know the answer to a question you've asked. also please be patient with your bro's and sisters.. some members don't sign on as often as others, but when they do sign on they might have something good to say in response. sis jaj I was actually looking for a post of yours I thought I saw earlier.. but when I couldn't find it I thought it was my imagination.. take care and keep on postin' :-X wasalaamu alaykum :-) |

se7en i just think it's odd how when i was posting about my abusive ex husband, people responded to me all the time. and then when i started to write about more pleasant things (like my son), everyone started to ignore me. anyways, i'm leaving this board. so it doesnt matter anymore anyways. |

[slm] Dear JaJ, I was thinking of your comments. There are many reasons I do not post to someones topic. Sometimes I have no experiance in the area, others I just have no clue on what kind of advice I could give. Then other times, especially cute stories, that I would like to write a one liner that I liked it.... but then one liners are not "allowed" in our consitution of laws here at madinat. Sometimes a person is asking for advice, but does not give enough info for me to understand the situation. Another time I do not respond is if someone has previously posted something I agree on, with the same spin. You can tell if someone is ignoring your posts...just by seeing how many have read the piece. I have noticed the average is about 30. Also remember there are several generations on this board. Your posts may be very beneficial to your age group and not so interesting to others. I can only imagine how boring some of my grey hair generational posts are to the young'ins here. There are quite a few of my "Letter to the Teacher" posts that get no responce at all. I keep posting tho, because I feel they are a benefit, if not now, then soon, Insha Allah to Muslim who will have children entering in the schools someday. I know at one point, I too, thought of stopping posting some topics about child rearing in the public schools, because no one replied, when all of a sudden I got a IM from a brother giving me the thumbs up. So JAJ, although you may think that we do not appreciate your posts, you have no idea how many you have touched or helped. Please reconsider. |

[slm] To add to what others have posted, this board grows like crazy and the amount of posts are pretty insane. It is difficult to even READ all the posts let alone reply to them all. I as an admin read all the posts but can't possibly reply to them all. Also, there are some questions people ask that I'd *like* to reply to but during that specific day I have to run out or do something and the opportunity is lost, and also there are some complicated questions that I just don't have the answer to, or can't relate to. Also sr jaj i wonder if you are referring to the questions you posted on custody of children? That is such a complex question that NEEDS an imam or Islamic scholar. That is probably why no one answered. They are doing you a favor by not telling you something that is wrong. |
