My Hubby bought me the computer program "Family Tree Maker" to do our geneology and family history.

Your post read as if you saying you are giving nothing to your Dad or Mom?
Your children are getting nothing?

What version is it?  I have an older version, and have thought of upgrading, but I am not sure it would be worth it.  Tell me what you think of it!

Yeah that's like mean to give your neices and nephews and not your own kids? or maybe you don't have any...  I think it's a great idea to give to kids on Eid and to have an Eid party for them etc in the community so they can feel the real specialness of eid, otherwise it's just another day to them where Islam sux or is boring again.

So here are my suggestions:
It's kind of hard when your whole family is one the board ;)  so ok guys don't look!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1. Ok so a really nice gift everyone can enjoy is some awesome baklawa.. order from shatila.com  they deliver anywhere in the US in 3 days or less and the stuff is DELICIOUS. It is pricy when you include shipping and stuff but it's worth it for Eid ;)

2. This photogrpahy book by Peter Sanders seems to be a really nice gift. It's called "In the Shade of the Tree" and has lots of nice photos of ppl in the Islamic world. It goes for about 40 bucks and if you want to get even nicer buy the Makkah and Madinah one (but it's also pricier at like 50). There's also a related 2003 calendar.

3. Nasheed CDs are always popular, so whatever you don't have of Dawud Wharnsby Ali, MYNA Raps for kids, Raihan, Yusuf Islam, etc

4. Two words if you're married and want to give something to your wife: LINDT Chocolate.. enough said ;)

5. General interest type books, like if that member of your family is into biographies you can buy them the new bio of Salahuddin or the dauther of Sh. DanFodio. If they're into Arabic (like my dad) there's a whole bunch of cool Arabic stuff on the market)

6. Got kids? My vote goes for the Adam's world stuff for little kids ~5 and under and for older one's the Salam's Journey series and the Muslim Scout series. Awesome stuff!

It is the Collector's edition. He got it at a computer fair for a very low price. Does anyone know if this stuff is "hot"?
I can't open it until Eid... he is a mean Hubby.... ;)
Al-Humdullillah... I might get carried away and neglect my exta prayers if I did open it!
