Terrorist Camp run by U.S. government

The other day I was watching on PBS this documentary with this priest, Father Romero, and some of his followers, protesting a terrorist camp setup by the United States in South America, called the school of the Americas.  Its a school where they train people to become terrorists, and teach them how to torture people, and they get used to the idea of killing women and children and doing all sorts of horrible stuff.  General Noriega came from there as did other dictators, there's an interesting site on it here.

Has anyone heard about it?

Yeah,
Not only is it a terroist camp, it teaches torture, and due to its implementations against civilians, war crimes and crimes against humanity.
I believe they've found actual manuals from the school teaching the different methods of torture,  I can't quite recall where I saw that though.
I have to say I admire the Jesuit order down there who take such pains simply  to try to uplift their followers. It reminds me of the way some of the
Sahaba were tortured for their religion. Makes me a bit sad when I see a
'made in Honduras' label or from some other country in which you know the people who own these factories were most likely put into power by the actions of theschool :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'

This is one of Noam Chomsky's areas  of specialties, here's a small excerpt of what the School of the Americas has managed to accomplish:
You can search for'school of the Americas' on his website at:[url]http://www.zmag.org/chomsky/[/url] to get the article that talked about this and another one.

The continuity of U.S. policy is well-illustrated by the record of the Atlacatl Battalion, "whose soldiers professionally obeyed orders from their officers to kill the Jesuits in cold blood," Americas Watch observed on the tenth anniversary of the assassination of Archbishop Romero, proceeding to review some of the achievements of this elite unit, "created, trained and equipped by the United States." [glow=red,2,300]It was formed in March 1981, when 15 specialists in counterinsurgency were sent to El Salvador from the U.S. Army School of Special Forces. From the start, the Battalion "was engaged in the murder of large numbers of civilians[/glow]." A professor at the [glow=red,2,300]US Army School of Americas[/glow], described its soldiers as "particularly ferocious": "We've always had a hard time getting [them] to take prisoners instead of ears." In December 1981, the Battalion took part in an operation in which hundreds of civilians were killed in an orgy of murder, rape, and burning, over 1000 according to the Church legal aid office. Later it was involved in the bombing of villages and the murder of hundreds of civilians by shooting, drowning, and other methods, the vast majority being women, children, and the elderly. This has been the systematic pattern of special warfare in El Salvador since the first major military operation in May 1980, when 600 civilians were murdered and mutilated at the Rio Sumpul in a joint operation of the Salvadoran and Honduran armies, a slaughter revealed by Church sources, human rights investigators, and the foreign press, but not the U.S. media, which also have their psychological warfare function.
