| One of my yahoo mails is acting really weird. I'm getting host unknown returned mail messages for addresses i've never seen let alone sent stuff to. These messages are being sent back from an AOL mailer daemon ??? (or does yahoo use the same as aol?). The strangest of all things though is that the sender address is a muslim sounding name from a government institute in malaysia!!! so how come these returned e-mails get in my inbox??? I'm also receving some empty e-mails from unknown addresses but the size is like 100+ K. I can't see any attachments nor is there any written message inside, just the header. Has anyone experienced anything like this? |

| [slm] I got those too in my home inbox...I think they're either viruses or worms... I checked out antivirus.com and they mention a worm called WORM_KLEZ.H that can randomly spoof the from field...and the subject field can be, "Undelivarable mail" ," Returned mail, "special",...etc... u can check the details here... http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyclo/default5.asp?VName=WORM_KLEZ.H&VSect=T But I don't know much abt this kind of stuff...so maybe the others can enlighten us..Insha Allah... | [wlm] just delete them.. and if you can block the email addresses then do that too. Sometimes what a virus will do is pick up all the addresses in an adressbook and pretend that one address sent mail to another and then you get bounces all over the place... or even it will pick up all email addresses in your html cache and do the same... a real mess...... so it might be on that other person's side, your side, or even a third party!! |
