| GLASSY EYEZ Anonymous I see a young lady, Gifted with the richness of love around her, and struck with the prosperity of beauty. But look a little closer, what do I see? I look into her eyes, in which is the route to the soul, to the heart. I see glassy eyes. Why does she blur the vision of her gift of sight she has been blessed with? She is blind. Blinded by all she sees and all she feels. But what does she see? She sees a multi-cultural society? Multi-cultural is it? When an ordinary man dressed in a business suit, is no different from the young child in rags living on the street. She sees all, all trying to be one - not multi. One lead by hate and ignorance, plastic and silicone. Greed and envy. Whatever happened to tradition? It has flowed down a stream of river and disappeared. But look a little closer. Racists! That's what she sees. They say it is a thing of the past, when it is an actual movement of the future. What does an innocent black man have to do in order to protect himself from the police? Injustice. We all are brothas and sistas huh? Do brothas and sistas kill each other, betray each other. She sees babies that are killing babies. When does she stop to clear her eyes? A Corrupt society. Based on what? What is our destiny? Does the end justify the means? A word from the wise, we got money for wars but cannot feed the poor. Well Dear Mr. Prime Minister, there's a war in the Middle East. But we just concerned of our celebrities. How does she overcome? The solution, the remedy the key - is Love. What is love? Love is real; it's smooth, like that feel of soft sand on the beach. Love is natural. This feeling is quite positive. But what does she feel? She feels pain? She's confused with love, because love is positive. She suffers from the sparks of our so-called multi-cultural society. Why must she be ill? She must accept, endure, and overcome. Then she can do anything. Knowledge, the key to the door of freedom, of success, of power. Hold that tight in your hands. Put upon her the guidance of her mighty creator, Allah, and give her courage. Courage to love again. It's true, time heals all wounds, show love, and give love. As the world turns, her vision blurs. Why can't she see there's good and optimism in our society. She cannot cause she suffers from the case of glassy eyez. |
