| Assalamualaikum, I've been enjoying everyone's poetry here, and I thought I would contribute my own... Unfortunately, I don't know how to put in italics, so the effects are some what diminished, but inshallah you'll get the point:) ---------------------------------------------------------------- If it is not there… where are you going? Before you are born, It is there Before you pray, you offer it If it is not there, there is no love, no friendship, No deal… Just the emptiness of a hard, heavy heart… dry, dense. One leaves the house at 7:40 on a Tuesday morning, Opens the door and steps outside. “Where are you going?” asks the Book The car? The bus stop? The office? The dentists? School? The West Coast? China? The difference lies in what is there… At this moment, you are all potential. (And if nothing is there, where are you going?) Every day, you must form it. Through free will, developing it “Momentum” is its existence in reality, the constant now, Where the glance returns to the eye Faster than light speed and outside the bounds of time! Beyond the speed of life and approaching the speed of love, The speed of rahma… Once it has been formed you are acting within its context If you are not conscious of it, you have still made it, Because this Momentum will be carried in with you Like the aura of cold air carried indoors by the one who has been long outside in January And this unconscious path, of the one who forgets, is the path to oblivion… Intention Now: Bismallah arRahman arRahim… |

| Well thought and well writen... :) Just one more thing to add from my side. This very 'Intention' is the basic yardstick during the accountability process on the Last Day. All our actions are judged on the basis of this. Some scholars have opined that the hadith 'Actions are by intentions' contains one-third of the deen. Anyways, excellent poem with a thought provoking message. |

| It occurred to me this morning that I should have put "the speed of rahma" not "rahman", because I meant to use a regular noun... |

| Salam :) MashaAllah, nice bro...didn't know you wrote poetry too. :) Poems sometimes open windows into our hearts that have been closed for too long. Hope you share more with us... Salam :) |
