| Assalamu Alaikum, Here is the tafsee of Surat-ul Ikhlas: Wassalamu Alaikum, Betul TAFSEER IBN KATHIR Ahmad bi Hanbal reported that the polytheists asked the Prophet[pbuh] to describe the attributes of his Lord. Then this Surah was revealed. The word 'Samad' means the one who is not born nor does he have offspring, because the one who is born is sure to die one day and someone else will succed him. The word also denotes that such a being must not have a sex nor must such a being have anyone else like him. Literally 'Samad' means one that is not hollow. Bukhari reported tht the Prophet[pbuh] sent a small army unit. When it returned, the men said to the Prophet [pbuh] , "O Messenger of Allah! the man whom you appointed our commander, recited only this Surah after recitation in every Rakah of every prayer." When the Prophet [pbuh]asked the man about the reason, he said, "This Surah has the Attributes of Allah and I love to recite it." The Prophet [pbuh] sent him the glad tidings that "Allah loves him." |
