| that Muslims are conspiring to convert all Americans to Islam by the year 2020? This was posted on a discussion group: <b>My pastor says that they have a plan for converting America by 2020. They think that we are so religiously bankrupt here that they can convert us all! Just look at the ELCA. It is official doctrine that we all worship one God. Just ask Carole! My pastor is preparing us for converts. He mentions it a lot and tells us what to do or say. Scary stuff! </b> Can you believe this? Personally this was news to me... What sort of scare tactic will they think of next. When I suggested to this woman that she actually study Islam her reply was: <b>I have no inclination to study Islam. I have no reason to doubt what I am hearing from my pastor and others. Of course they aren't going to tell you that. You are being converted! I can go to any Muslim chat room on mirc and they will lie to me and tell me that we worship the same God. No Muslin who tells the truth will tell you that.</b. So that's it, huh? You are all lying to me because you want me to convert and then after I make my Shahadah I'll get a the "real" Qur'an and all of the dirt on Islam???? ROFLOLPIMP!!! Goodness - I can't wait to see what people say next! And to think all I did was tell them that I am thinking seriously about converting to Islam. Should be interesting to see what happens when I actually do revert! Carole |

| Salam :) Subhanallah Carole, I can't believe a lot of things they are saying! I think there is a real fear among Christian clergy that church members are leaving Christianity and they are trying to put a stop to it. From my experience, most Christians are good-hearted people, and when they find out about Islam, they see the truth in it. I pray that God gives you strength during these difficult times to do what is right :) |

| I kind of know the feeling about this. When I told my mom I was learning about Islam and I tried to talk with her about things. She feels even thought she herself has not read a Quran that what she hears from church leaders is correct, I really feel so sad when someone is so closed minded. I told her I found Muslims to be just as passionate of Islam and the Quran as Christians are of the Bible and Christianity. But of course her beliefs are the RIGHT ones and the true ones. I wasn't asking her to look into Islam herself just merely understand that there are folks of other religons and cultures that believe just as strongly of theirs as she does hers. To many people believe all they hear instead of checking out things for themselves. I still have no idea where my search will lead me spiritually but I will learn all I can and read all I can and will stop anyone from putting down someone elses beliefs in my presence. At this point I believe there is only ONE GOD and I believe he is a merciful and loving God, anything after that I am not sure of. But I'm seeking :) |
