Scary thought...

This has been crossing my mind for a few days now. Have you guys thought that here on Jannah.org we interact with each other almost daily, got to know each other rather well and are more or less a family, but if anything bad ever happened to any of us, the rest of us here wouldn't even know? :o :(  We'd probably just assume so-and-so has moved on, is busy etc.

not so scary thought..

An idea!!!!!!!!! Maybe for those interested se7en and bhaloo can keep a list, we can give them a phone number or email address of a close relative or friend. I have grown to think of you all as family and I personally would be worried if someone disappeared and we didn't know if they moved on or something happened. What do you all think of this idea? bhaloo and se7en would you be willing to keep a list like this of anyone wanting to be put on it?

I'm willing to be on such a list.

By the way don't forget I told everyone in a thread last week I am going to be moving and hubby is coming home after being away 6 months so if you don't see me for days or even a couple weeks I'm ok. I always check email and when busy still do atleast every two or three days. I am going to be having surgery soon so you can all keep me company as I'll be on the pc for a few days re-coop'ing as I'll not be able to do to much the first few days. Not sure when that will be I am trying to put it off. But I'll let all of you know.

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah,
:D I've had that thought as well.  But then I figure, well, we're probably never going to get to meet each other on earth anyway, but I really really really hope insha Allah that we get to meet each other in Jannah.

Assalamu Alaikum,
Speaking of which...does anyone know what happened
to Sonny? I have not seen any of her posts for quite some time
now.

Interesting idea. :)  I think we've probably all had the thought one time or another.

Sonny uses the handle, Sparrow on here now.  I haven't heard from her in a while, but she does appear on the board, every once in a while.
Sonny uses the handle, Sparrow on here now.
Whoa!  I did not know that!

Btw, does anyone on here have two handles that they use?  Talk about split personality :)

I know at least one person does this on here :o (or used to, at least)

Assalamu Alaikum,

One guy who still confuses me is lightningatnite.  Did he used bo on the board as 'Gladiator'?  I don't know much of anything about him except that he used to write some really light-hearted posts... but all of a sudden stopped.  Is he Faisal Ahmad brother to se7en and Jannah?

Wassalmu Alaikum,
Uzer

umm..Sonny is not Sparrow guys.. But I'll let them deny it for themselves..

I think that's a good idea. A while ago I wanted to IM se7en to see what was up with Laboogie. Usually someone, somewhere will know what's up with one of the regulars, but that's not the case for everyone. ie Sonny. I'd be willing to contribute to such a list.

Another thing that I found on a different newsgroup was a really cool idea. They called it "Secret Snowflake" and had a gift exchange. It was held in December and you could post your likes/dislikes and what winter holiday you celebrate (Eid, Christmas, Solistice etc) and then everyone sent all their personal addresses to one member and she set up partners. The thing is, you only get the address of who you send to, and it's a puzzle who sends to you. They buy small gifts like mugs, chocolates and stuff and try to make clues as to who it's from. Eg I could send some sweets made in Ireland and then my partner would guess "aha! this could be from Eleanor:)". If they can't work out who it's from then they ask the board and everyone joins in trying to guess who it was. You can send a gift for initials, like I could send chocolate *E*ggs. The only thing is, the receiver has to try to either get their husband to open the parcel, or avert their eyes from the postmark while opening it, because that could be too much of a giveaway, unless you were really sneaky and posted it while on holidays, or posted it to someone else first and then got them to post it on from their location.
I didn't take part but it was really exciting even watching the others experience it. Some people got really lovely gifts. And it was non-denominational/inter-faith, whatever.

Anyway, dunno if all this garble interested you or not, but I found it to be a fun idea! ;-D

well it goes without saying that you don't *post* your real address, just email it to the organiser.. finding someone to organise it all may prove to be the problem.. or not?

Assalamu'alaikum :-)
PS Barr dont kill me at the office on Monday heh heh
Now, why would I want to do that for? *looks around innocently*

Sooo, did the Honeydew Iceblend Bubble Tea that I bought for you taste good? *heh heh*

Anyways, yeah... a *S*uperman (translate *S*ervant) would be good.

With his superhuman strength, he can clean my room, wash the dishes, clean the house, scrub the floors, iron my clothes in a jiffy.

And if he is smart, I'll let him do my reports and concept/proposal papers.

And like a flash of light, he can send me anywhere I want, as I sit in my comfy sedan chair. That'll sure cut my transport costs.

hey, I'll even get to go back to England Free of Charge! Woo hoo!

And if you behave, Solehah, and Eleanor, dearie... I'll let him do your bidding once in a while... now, ain't that sweet? :):):)

Be nice to me, now ;-D

Wassalam :)

Okay ... found this one at the nearest bookshop

"*E*QUAL RIGHTS WITHIN THE MARRIAGE - how to treat your husband kindly, even if he *is* Superman"
 by Ravish M'dearie

It even starts with the letter E, so I'm keeping with the theme here.

please note how Sister Barr is more than willing to accept gifts without giving any thought to what to get *us* in return.....
