| Salaams i need help finding two books 1) what's a *really* good book on the stories of the prophets, and not a series type thing, is there any book out there that has *all* the prophet's stories? 2) what's a really good book about the beliefs of the Hanafi sect? i would prefer if the book showed what they believe in and why and how they differ from other sects, etc. This one's *really* important, so please help me out here =) Price of the books doesn't matter, so any suggestions are cool with me Thanks a million! | As salamu alaykum, The book by Ibn Kathir is excellent. As for the Hanafee Madhab I have Everyday Fiqh by Mohammad Yusuf Islahi. It is in two parts and follows the Hanafite view-points. I think that I bought it from Soundvision, but try http://store.talkislam.com/ first since they are cheaper. On the jacket cover it says that it also has footnotes from other Schools of Fiqh. | slm For Hanafi fiqh there is Al-Hedeya translated by Charles Hamilton (but the English is so hard to follow, its like something straight out of the 18th century), and there is another book I was going to say, but I remember Arsalan and someone else, maybe it was Asim or Saleema saying that there are some problems with this book. |
