Assalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullah Masjid There’s one on Prospect. Back in the day, Boston University held the largest jummu’ahs in Boston proper (b/c there were no masjids downtown large enough). Not sure if that’s still the case. Shopping Quincy Market Newberry Street Filene’s Basement Carousel Mall Restaurants Too many to name, but two I would recommend are Helmand’s (Afghan, formal) and Shwarma King (Middle Eastern, sit-in deli). Misc Walk the Freedom Trail Go to Boston Commons (Duck tours!) Definitely visit the Cambridge side (“across the river”) Boston and the surrounding areas are known to have a college/university or retirement home on every block, so you’ll see very few families or children, except at the parks/malls. Some of the larger schools are worth visiting, but not so much in the winter. It’s wicked cold these days. [Btw, you should note that in Boston, the term “wicked” can be used as an adjective, noun, adverb, verb, etc.] Also, the “T” is the subway system, which goes to most of these sites. Your cousin may have a better idea of the area, I had only lived there for a year and rarely got a chance to do the tour-isty things (too busy studying/working!). |
