Salaam. I wonder how red faced and humiliated all those Anti-Taleban muslims and non muslims will be after reading this.

The taleban may have been harsh and strict, but they done it for a reason, and when they came to power in the climate discribed below, could they really have allowed more leniancy.

Just wait until the western media starts reporting on the  massive increase of rape on innocent women.

SATURDAY JANUARY 12 2002

Kandahar comes out of the closet

FROM TIM REID IN KANDAHAR

Our correspondent sees the gay capital of South Asia throw off strictures of the Taleban

NOW that Taleban rule is over in Mullah Omar’s former southern stronghold, it is not only televisions, kites and razors which have begun to emerge.
Visible again, too, are men with their ashna, or beloveds: young boys they have groomed for sex.

Kandahar’s Pashtuns have been notorious for their homosexuality for centuries, particularly their fondness for naive young boys. Before the Taleban arrived in 1994, the streets were filled with teenagers and their sugar daddies, flaunting their relationship.

It is called the homosexual capital of south Asia. Such is the Pashtun obsession with sodomy — locals tell you that birds fly over the city using only one wing, the other covering their posterior — that the rape of young boys by warlords was one of the key factors in Mullah Omar mobilising the Taleban.

In the summer of 1994, a few months before the Taleban took control of the city, two commanders confronted each other over a young boy whom they both wanted to sodomise.

In the ensuing fight civilians were killed. Omar’s group freed the boy and appeals began flooding in for Omar to help in other disputes.

By November, Omar and his Taleban were Kandahar’s new rulers. Despite the Taleban disdain for women, and the bizarre penchant of many for eyeliner, Omar immediately suppressed homosexuality.

Men accused of sodomy faced the punishment of having a wall toppled on to them, usually resulting in death. In February 1998 three men sentenced to death for sodomy in Kandahar were taken to the base of a huge mud and brick wall, which was pushed over by tank. Two of them died, but one managed to survive.

“In the days of the Mujahidin, there were men with their ashna everywhere, at every corner, in shops, on the streets, in hotels: it was completely open, a part of life,” said Torjan, 38, one of the soldiers loyal to Kandahar’s new governor, Gul Agha Sherzai.

“But in the later Mujahidin years, more and more soldiers would take boys by force, and keep them for as long as they wished. But when the Taleban came, they were very strict about the ban. Of course, it still happened — the Taleban could not enter every house — but one could not see it.”

But for the first time since the Taleban fled, in the past three days, one can see the pairs returning: usually a heavily bearded man, seated next to, or walking with, a clean-shaven, fresh faced youth. There appears to be no shame or furtiveness about them, although when approached, they refuse to talk to a western journalist.

“They are just emerging again,” Torjan said. “The fighters too now have the boys in their barracks. This was brought to the attention of Gul Agha, who ordered the boys to be expelled, but it continues. The boys live with the fighters very openly. In a short time, and certainly within a year, it will be like pre-Taleban: they will be everywhere.”

This Pashtun tradition is even reflected in Pashtun poetry, odes written to the beauty and complexion of an ashna, but it is usually a terrible fate for the boys concerned. It is practised at all levels of Pashtun society, but for the poorer men, having an ashna can raise his status.

“When a man sees a boy he likes — the age they like is 15 or 16 — they will approach him in the street and start talking to him, offering him tea,” said Muhammad Shah, a shop owner. “Sometimes they go looking in the football stadium, or in the cinema (which has yet to reopen).

“He then starts to give him presents, hashish, or a watch, a ring, or even a motorbike. One of the most valued presents is a fighting pigeon, which can be worth up to $400 (£277). These boys are nearly always innocent, but such is the poverty here, they cannot refuse.”

Once the boy falls into the man’s clutches — nearly always men with a wife and family — he is marked for life, although the Kandaharis accept these relationships as part of their culture.

When driven around, ashna sit in the front passenger seat. The back seat is simply for his friends. Even the parents of the boys know in their hearts the nature of the relationship, but will tell people that their son is working for the man. They, like everyone else, will know this is a lie. “They say birds flew with both wings with the Taleban,” Muhammad said. “But not any more.”

Many of the young boys are forced into sodomy because of poverty. The same applies to female prostitution. Prostitution even used to exisit during Taleban days but behind closed doors. Poverty is the problem that needs to be addressed.

<Many of the young boys are forced into sodomy because of poverty.>

Thats true in a lot of Cases. But that isnt the issue here, the issue is not why do people do it. The issue is they DO do it, and THIS must be stopped! If you read the item carefully, you will find that people used to walk around with these kinds of people, almost as if boasting about the sex toy. Now thier may be poverty, but the fact is that thier are men, not a few but MANY men who wanna do this to boys, and its these men that have to be dealt with, why? Lets say poverty is removed, will that stop these men wanting young boys? No, they will just be prepared to up the money to get them, or find other ways, such as forced rape, or even paying couples to have children to sell to them. Its these men, and thier mentality which needs to be dealt with, either dealt with, or wiped them out.

<Prostitution even used to exisit during Taleban days but behind closed doors.>

Yes, and why do people have prostitutes? Because they have the desire to have sex right? That cannot and will not change, so how do you deal with it? Well men who are like that should get married. Their will always be women prepared to sell themselves.

But with young boys, the old pervs MUST be dealt with. Simply throwing money at someone does not remove thier perverse desires. It may remove some of the boys who wanna work for money, but it will not go far enough. Money is not the solution to all problems.

Look at the west, people have enough money, yet paedophilia is rampant in the west!

My solution, show leniancy, almost pretend you dont care for a while, let these pervs feel comfortable so they then expose themselves, then round them up, and execute each and everyone.

hmmm execution, murder, violence, fighting, war, seems to be your solution to every problem in the world. If you were the leader/PM of a country I lived in, I think I would emmigrate so I have a chance to see it to my 19th birthday! I'm sure my fellow country men/women would follow..........if there were any still alive :)

<hmmm execution, murder, violence, fighting, war, seems to be your solution to every problem in the world.>

Since when? When attacked we should fight back, whats wrong with that? If someone commits murder, and they are tried, and convicted, then according to islaam, unless blood money is requested/payed, the convicted is executed.

The punihsment for rape is execution, according to islaam.

The punishment for homosexual sex is execution according to islaam.

Since when have i ever said violance or murder is a solution?

Islaam has given us the rulings on what to do if certain crimes are committed. If we have the means to, we should follow islaamic law and carry out these crimes.

Now tell me, those Anti-taliban paedophiles, and homosexuals, what should we do to them? Give them loads of money to build themselves big houses? OK, lets do that, but i dont think thier sick habits will change!

Their perversion cannot be cured with money. Its a mental sickness. Its like trying to counsel a man out of being attracted to women, you simply cannot do it!

So Hania, what would be your solution to these things

1) If your country was invaded and bombed

2) If you or any other female was raped.

3) If a young boy was raped

4) If someone was murdered

5) If homosexuals were caught in the act/or admitted what they had done?

Lets see what your solution is Sister :)

In practically everything you talk about. e.g. Situation in Pakistan you keep calling the president a traitor for his decision to keep Pakistan in one piece and not fighting in the Afghan/US situation. But this topic has been done and dusted soooo pllllleeeeeaseeeeeee lets stop it here, I only meantioned it to give u an example.

I am not a leader, lawyer, imam and your questions are generalisations so I cannot provide a justifed answer to each one. Each circumstance could be different. E.g. If someone accidently murdered someone in self-defence.

But in every situation, before knowing what action should be taken, I believe in trying to get to the 'root' of the problem and ask WHY is it happening? WHY are these young boys/girls forced into prostitution? WHY was it happening behind closed doors even when the Taliban used execution as a punishment?

You're saying execute eveyone that commits this crime, fair point.

I'm simply saying work on poverty as well, then  boys/women won't have to be forced into the life, committing these sins in cladenstine just to have food in their tummy.

Salaam Hania

<In practically everything you talk about. e.g. Situation in Pakistan you keep calling the president a traitor for his decision to keep Pakistan in one piece and not fighting in the Afghan/US situation.>

<not fighting in the Afghan/US situation>

Knowone asked him to fight. We dont want the help of a mushrik, munaafiq army. All we asked was for them NOT to HELP the US. Do what indonesia done, say no to the US demands. Indonesia said no, the US were deeply angred, by they couldnt do jack all! Pakistan however bowed to the US!

Musharraf is a traitor, a munaafiq and a humiliation to the Muslim World. If some kaafirs wants to attack you Hania, and the only means they have to beat you up, stab and kill Hania, is to go through a muslims house, your neighbours, and your neighbour says "by all means, in fact why not come and stay in my house while you wait for Hania, i'll also feed you, look after you, give you medical care if you want, and treat you as my honoured guest, then after you've killed Hania, we'll make sure knowone in her family, or from my house will attack you, my friend. You are my friend, and i am with you agianst muslims like Hania".

How would you feel Hania in such a case? Because that is EXACTLY what pakistan done to the Afghan muslims.

Anyway, enough of that:

<Each circumstance could be different. E.g. If someone accidently murdered someone in self-defence.>

I gave simple situations, nothing complicated, no ifs or but, all situations would have been sorted by the courts through trials.

Anyway i feel for all those women in Afghanistan who are now gona be the victims of rapists, those women who will no longer get protection from the Taleban, those women who are no out on thier own, open to whatever the NA and the Anti-Taleban wish to do.

And what off all them kids, little boys who are now gona be raped and sodomised by grown militia men.

The Protection and rule of law of the Taleban is gone. Pakistan played a massive role in that.

Abdullah

< this is what happens when muslim government is driven out by bullies>

That is what happens when the muslim world cowars like mice under their beds while others a brutalised.

The saddest thing is that so many foolish muslims (Not you Abdullah or Hania) were agianst the Taleban. Well i wonder what these foolish muslims will say now to the boys and women who are gona be raped at will?

AWW,

After darkness there is always light....
They can try and say whatever they want about Islam, but in the end truth will prevail.

May Allah give all the brothers and sisters in Islam hidayaat and save them from the evil fitnah of homosexuality.

What of those Afghan boys? Who is gona protect? The US? I doubt it. So now what? This is aweful guys, these kids are gona be destroyed by this, and they in turn will be so traumatised they will do the same to kids when they grow up.

All we can do now is make Dua for them, and for the Guerilla Mujaahideen to protect the young by dealing with those homosexuals and rapists who do this to kids.

Perhaps this explains why there is incessant infighting and carnage all over Afghanistan for almost a quarter of a century?

Reminds me....

Ibn `Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "If Allah afflicts punishment upon a nation, it befalls the whole population indiscriminately and then they will be resurrected and judged according to their deeds.'

Sister, please reread the article and let the gravity of the situation
sink in. The article is hardly an exaggeration, neither it is a joke.
If it is not an eye opener than what else is? The situation has been
going out of hand since long. Remember the murderer of 100 boys from
Lahore? The entire region is cursed with this vilest of evils. May Allah
reward those who revolted against it for what is better than forbidding
evil? And now the shaitan is back, dancing and celebrating in the ruined
alleys of Afghanistan.

The real problem is abject moral poverty not the material one. Blaming
poverty has become so stale a reason that it has lost all meaning.
Poverty is no vice and poverty is no sin. Poverty was the life of our
master (SAW) and his companions (RA).

Assalaamu-alaikum Yasin

Bro check out the article at the start of this thread, the first one, its from the Times website, and they claim this Gul Agha's fighters are paedophiles! Thats indepandant of azzam.

I always wondered why the Azzam bro's reffered to Afgha as a paedophile. Now i know why! Its because he is a MAJOR paedophile, as are his fighters! Astagfirallah! No wonder the paedophiles hated the taleban so much!

Inshallah this will once agian pave the way for the Taleban to retrun, under a new group of course, or maybe as the taliban themselves, but no way can a government made up of homo's and paedophiles survive in a place with so many strong muslims!
It's been sick for a coupla thousand years...

         AsalamAlay.com,
Peace and e-Greetings be upon you all.

         When Alexander the Great
moved his army into present day Pakistan, he stopped.

A careful reading of historiography confirms Alexander
         never reached Present day India.

When he decided to stop, his armies stopped too.

Many of the his soldiers were of macedonians and greek
heritage. Those two communities, up to that time,
had a habit of sodomite behaviour.

Alexander, after deciding to turn around and leave
Present day Pakistan, left many of his troops to
confirm his sovereignity over what then became the
eastern edge of his short-lived empire.

Alexander decreed those of his army left behind should
mary the local girls and get on with life.

Today, when one looks at the physical features of many
of the males in present day Baluchistan, one sees
Blue eyes, hooked nose, and olive complexion with
mediterranean hair, still after all these generations.

And, their sodomite behaviour, has ALSO survived through
         those many generations as well.

Am I blaming Alexander for Sodomite behaviour in the
         year 2002?

         No.

Just pointing out the ROOT of this fact of life in
Baluchistan today and how it came it about.

Many areas of what became majority muslim populated
lands still have muslims continuing behaviour that
predates Islam's arrival in their local neighbourhood.

&jbsp;  Indonesian Muslims still practice some animist ideas,
Pakistani Muslims still go gaga over Bollywood Hindu flicks,
Iranian/Persian muslim women dress have the 'purdah' as
it was under Zoroastrian custom, (Zoroastrian 'hijab' as I
call it, happened to be consistent with with Islam's mode
of hijab) etc etc... think of your own culture/country
and the muslims in it, you prob'ly have enuffa your own
gripes of non-islam traditions still surviving Islam's
         arrival in your neighbourhood.

Too bad Alexander didn't stop in Tel Aviv...or Belgrade
         for that matter.

i don't think the generations of today are somehow compelled to follow their ancestors in what they did, this doesn't make any sense. if there is an open acceptance of these abhorrent crimes then OK people will find it easier to commit them but in this instance Islam has a presence. sodomy is against the human fitra and noone has been made to incline towards it, it is a perversion. fully bearded men with families are open to this according to the article, there is something seriously wrong.
