She slept through the night! Yipee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We had pretty much given up hope on this since my daughter is 11 months old and had yet to sleep more than 6 or 7 consecutive hours, but last night she slept from 9 p.m. to 8:30 a.m., and I got my first straight 8 hours of sleep since before I was pregnant :):):):):)

Just had to tell someone.

Asalaamu Alaikum ;-)

Out of interest, what factors causes babies to wake up during the night?

Will making them go to bed later mean they will sleep more?

Mabrook Dawn, it is a wonderful feeling!!!

Infants can be tiring but ohhhh so rewarding:)

Br. Khalid

Babies will wake up through the night for a lot of reasons, hungry, wet nappy, scared, lonely all sorts of things

As for keeping them up later, I personally found that usually babies wake up at the same time, so then you just have a much crankier baby cause they are still tired.  Though I have heard of some babies will sleep 6 hours or whatever no matter what, so if you put them to bed later they will still sleep the same number of hours.

Parenthood is definitely trial and error!!!

Masha Allah, glad to hear that :)

My GP belives in timing the kids feeds every 4 hours during the day, so that by evening, they have had enuf and should not wake up!

Well, that's the theory anyway :)

Another thing i was advised on is to use LAVENDER

A drop or two in their evening bath water relaxes them.  It also helps to put a sprig or two of lavender near where they sleep.

Check this out with your GP first and always make sure you use the proper essentail oils..lotsa fakes out there! :)
