| Can someone give me a link to some accurate history behind the dome of the rock, like is there really a rock? I cant remember what I learned in Sunday School about it a while ago and I was talking to a jewish kid that wanted to know. I know that Muhammed PBUH led salat there with the other prophet's but thats all I know. Help a brother out. PS taking advantage of the situation, could anybody give me a link to the descriptive history of the sites in Mecca that one visits for hajj. I always wondered. Salaamz Abd_ALLAH |

| Wa Lakum as Salam, If you have some time and access, do a search on the net, I am sure that there are plenty of reliable sources photographic tours of Makkah, Jerusalem, etc. Something I read, but have yet to confirm, is that there is indeed a rock there, and during the loss of Jerusalem to the Jews (or Crusaders?), they used that rock as a garbage pit. It had to be cleaned off when Jerusalem was regained by the Muslims. Like I said yet to be confirmed on my part, and I hope that I am not aiding in the spread of false accounts of history.
