asalamu alaikum,

Has anyone here ever been to Israel?  And I don't mean border refugee camps or surrounding countries, but smack in the Jewish state itself?

Boy I've heard some real stroies about that place.

Apparently, I still migth not have a problem getting in since by name and identity I am a Indo-Canadian and by name, a hindu still.

Just wondering as one day I hope to go with Sadiya to visit Masjid Al-Aqsa and so on. asalmau alaikum. abdullah,.

salaam,
Haven't been there but have been told not to get your passports stamped by Israeli immigration as muslim countries refuse entry to individuals with israeli stamps. Instead get your travel id papers stamped something which the Israelis will do upon request.

Your nationality (Canadian) won't be a problem, however you wife may be asked some grilling questions on whats shes doing travelling with a hindu(by name) so it maybe a good idea to give your real identity as muslim.

AWW,

Couple of years ago my friend went to Israel, and he went to these schools to teach them english. He really enjoyed it. When you speak to him you realise that the only way to peace is for these two people to live together and with respect to decent human rights for each other.

As for passports, if yours is stamped with the Israel's then you won't be able to enter the other muslim countries, for example, Jordan, Egypt and Saudi. Best get it stamped on a seperate document.

And it don't matter if your name is Hindu, by looking at you with a nice beard and a lady in hijaab they'll put two and two together and question you for hours. Worse maybe that they won't let you in.

Salaams
