When the Rose is disheartened... ------------------------------ http://jaihoon.com/egoptics/rose.htm When the Rose is disheartened, It is as if the Nightingale In shame is melted! To remove this thorn of grudge, That is against you; And the gains that others are trying to dodge From coming to you. All this injustice I want to hedge Dear One! Let your soul be the judge (that) From my heart this is a sincere pledge! You are a Rose Burning day and night All through summer and winter There is no end to your merciless plight. I am a Nightingale Who at morn and evening Without doing anything As if from life's toil I am sent on bail! Although in abundance There is avarice around In patience and confidence, Your heart you did surround. Dear One! Listen to what this nightingale Is wanting to speak Sweet are the words Flowing from his beak That- Since times old, This wicked world For those with the heart of Gold Is worth no more than bogus! Dear One! Against the Devil's games We should be cautious. About my sincere pledge if you are conscious Then you will realize that- From HIM comes the real bonus! All this injustice I want to hedge Dear One! Let your soul be the judge (that) From my heart this is a sincere pledge! [This poem is in the context of consoling a disappointed friend when one's efforts are not properly rewarded.] |
