| [slm] I was experimenting w/ Gibran's style a while back. Since its all rainy on this side of the world i thought i'd share this...enjoy:):):) [i]Then the people said tell us of the grey dayz, and the Mystic paused, letting the wisdom permeate...she spoke, slowly, deliberating each word, staring into the horizons where the truth always reside; "Some say the grey days are wrought with the fury of the heavens, the darkness bringing gloom to all that have been denied of the sun's magnificent energy. Some say these grey thunderous clouds are but signs of dooms day, foreshadowing our tragic ends. Some toss and turn in their beds, resisting the call of dawn which has suddenely turned feeble without its light. Others simply moan in despair and passing complaints on infinity's sullenness. Only the wise recognize its neither eternity's gloom nor God's fury; these clouds are but vessels of life itself. People of the earth shun not the rain for fear of wetness, for its in wetness that we were conceived; Brothers and sisters of humanity cry not when the sun shines not above; for its within, that the eternal light of love forever gleams; Be saddened not when the clouds turn grey, for its within darkness that all color is dissolved; its within blackness that all colors inosculate to become one; Instead rejoice with mother earth at the gifts it brings forth; or with Living beings as they take on new life with each passing drop; like the trees as they sprout lusciousness, and flowers as they stretch their limbs in bloom; Be like the tiger that basks in life's glory bathing its shiny coat in eternal waters; or the peacock that lays its head in humble reverence; the butterflies who scatter the winds to create colorful rainbows; while the birds rejoice in songs of praise and sweet benediction. People of the earth relish in God's blessings for its within these signs that His perpetual presence is forever unfolded" [/i] |

| [slm] this is pretty cool Maliha! I was actually walking home today and it was pouring. The sky was all grey and basically I was thinking of how "gloomy" it was outside.. and then I started dhikring..and reading this reminds me of how Allah gives us rain as a benefit..(and also of how pessemistic I can be, but that's a different story :) ) very interesting to read :) [wlm] |
