IT'S BEAUTIFUL WOMAN MONTH

Did you know that it's Beautiful Women Month?

Well, it is and that means you and me.

Facts on Figures;
There are 3 billion women who don't look like supermodels and
only eight who do.

Marilyn Monroe wore a size 14.

If Barbie was a real woman, she'd have to walk on all fours due
to her proportions.

The average woman weighs 144 lb. and wears between a 12-14.

One out of every four college aged women has an eating disorder.

The models in the magazines are airbrushed -- not perfect!

A psychological study in 1995 found that three minutes spent
looking at a fashion magazine caused 70% of women to feel depressed,
guilty, and shameful.

Models twenty years ago weighed 8% less than the average woman.
Today they weigh 23% less.

~Beauty of a Woman~
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears,
The figure she carries, or the way she combs her hair.
The beauty of a woman must be seen from her eyes,
Because that is the doorway to her heart,
The place where love resides.
The beauty of a woman Is not in a facial mole,
But true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.
It is the caring that she lovingly gives,
The passion that she shows.
The beauty of a woman

With passing years -- only grows.

An English professor wrote the words, "Woman without her man is
nothing," on the blackboard and directed the students to punctuate it
correctly.
The men wrote: "Woman, without her man, is nothing."
The women wrote: "Woman! Without her, man is nothing."

The Images of Mother
4 YEARS OF AGE ~ My Mommy can do anything!
8 YEARS OF AGE ~ My Mom knows a lot! A whole lot!
12 YEARS OF AGE ~ My Mother doesn't really know quite everything.
14 YEARS OF AGE ~ Naturally, Mother doesn't know that, either.
16 YEARS OF AGE ~ Mother? She's hopelessly old-fashioned.
18 YEARS OF AGE ~ That old woman? She's way out of ! date!
25 YEARS OF AGE ~ Well, she might know a little bit about it.
35 YEARS OF AGE ~ Before we decide, let's get Mom's opinion.
45 YEARS OF AGE ~ Wonder what Mom would have thought about it?
65 YEARS OF AGE ~ Wish I could talk it over with Mom.

***Please send this to at least five phenomenal women today in
celebration of Women's History Month.
If you do, something good will happen.... YOU will boost another
woman's self-esteem!

Assalaamu-alaikum

I have never really fouind these so called "super models" attractive! I just dont see how anyone can find them attractive! They are skin and bones, tall, lanky, gangly, clumsy and thier faces are not really that attaractive! they dont look natural. They look like they diet heavily, exercise a lot and heavily made up!

Natural is best!

Before we go judging the supermodels, keep in mind that some women are simply built like that!  I went through my late teenage years with such a build and height, and always had everyone tell me "Oh, I wish I could be as skinny as you." and "You should try being a model, you're so tall and thin."  But I didn't *want* to be a model, I wanted to be a scientist.  And unless someone knew me, they always seemed to dismiss the "brain" career in favor of the "looks" career, which hurt me (in the way that teenagers feel things :)).  Thankfully, my proportions finally "normalized" in college, and I look back at those years and laugh.  But remember, what you are naturally is what is beautiful!

but they are gorgeous too!

Assalamu'alaikum :-)

Jazakillah, Sis Hania, for posting that up.

I love this bit.
But true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.

The passion that she shows.
The beauty of a woman

Its when one grows older, and begins and expands the depth of the things that she sees... that adds on to her maturity and beauty, for life shapes her and gives her character. And the beauty of the soul, encapsuled in one's iman, is manifested by one's akhlaq... and God-incidently, isn't that in the du'a that we recite, everytime we look into the mirror?

"Ya Allah, You made my physical constitution good
so make my disposition (akhlaq) good too
and keep my face safe from the hellfire.
Grace be to Allah who fashioned and made me proportionate,
and honoured my face and made me of the Muslims"

So Kathy... you'll always be part of the "competition" :)

Take care, my dear beautiful sisters
Wassalam :-)

Ha ha!!!!!;-D This was soooo hilarious Kathy!!I couldnt stop laughing for so long.
But on a serious note, beauty doesnt come from the exterior. So,Kathy dont worry about what u look like or watever. I know u from the board(i know...i ont post that much :) ) but I think u r a very wonderful person and that makes u beautiful.I ,personally have this problem of acne bugging me for a lot of years by now.And I wouldnt go out bcuz I was so worried about what people will think about those scars on my face etc.(Yes some ppl even asked if I had any disease like chicken pox or something like that bcuz of the scars). And my family didnt help at all.I mean not my parents but my relatives etc would see me and e like ,"Oh my Gosh!!Look at u,poor baby.Dont they sell anything in America for that??".And no one ever realised waht that did to my self-esteem.But Alhamdulillah,I had friends who gradually changed my outlook of beauty. And I realised that I am healthy, and have a normal mind (atleast i like to think so!! ;) )and a healthy body;a benefit which not everyone in this world enjoys. Now,I think that if u want to talk to me or get to know me,it should be becuz u think I am a person u wanna talk to or have a conservation with;and not becuz I look pretty or not.I hope this makes sense. And to ALL:please next time u see anyone commenting on someone's personal appearance, please gently remind them that it might hurt the other person's feelings since its not his/her fault to look like that. Hope I didnt offend anyone,
Wslm.

Asalamu Alykum,

SubhanAllah, sister MehaK i got goosebumps after reading your post :)
I remember reading an article by a canadian Muslim sister and it left such a profound impact on me.. Alhamdullilah after reading that article I started wearing Hijab :) She wrote the exact same thing you did. She emphasized so much on the fact that, our Physical manifestations are vessels carrying our intellectual abilities. When I read that it blew me away, that WaAllah why do people put sooo much effort for looking a "certain" way. Sister Hania :)

Waslamu Alykum Wa RahmatuAllah
