| [slm] I just got the mail with virus. Alhamdulillah, i had got this notification before the mail. [hr] W32.Myparty@mm mass-mailing worm with backdoor. last updated: January 27, 2002 4 pm EST Name of Virus: W32.Myparty@mm Trojan, worm Are Virus Definitions Available: YES Operating systems affected: 95/98, ME, NT4.0, 2000, XP Description : Ways this virus spreads: The worm sends email to all contacts in your Windows address book, and to email addresses that if finds in the Outlook Express Inboxes and folders. Backdoor.Myparty: In addition, the worm sends a message to the author so that the author can track the worm. On NT/2000/XP systems, the worm drops a backdoor Trojan that allows a hacker to control your system. NAV will detect this as Backdoor.Myparty. Finally, the file name of the worm is Access.<any extension>, it may launch your Web browser to http:/ www.disney.com. [color=red] Email Subject line: new photos from my party! Body: Hello! My party... It was absolutely amazing! I have attached my web page with new photos! If you can please make color prints of my photos. Thanks! | [slm] Thanks. I wonder if it affects hotmail users. I have it set to "exclusive" security, so any mail from someone I don't know goes straight to the Junk Mail folder. Well, this can be good and bad, but I do check it regularly to make sure any important mail doesn't get deleted :o [wlm] |
