| As Salaamu Alaikum, Seriously, how many of us here are secure in the Islamic advice we're giving here? I'm very curious. |

| wlm Giving advice is an awsome responsibility. I only pass on information that I have learned and attribute the source. When I first became Muslim, there was a sister who gave me much advice- as my Islamic learning advanced- i found that much she said was wrong- and culturally formed. Needless to say i am very careful- knowing that I will be accountable on judgement day. Advice is one of the things I like about this board. I like when we correct each other or show different view points. |

| Assalamu alaikum, There's a difference between giving advice and giving a fatwa. Giving advice is our duty. Allah told us to advise each other with truth and patience in Surat al 'Asr, and the Prophet (S) told us that "Addeen Annaseeha". Giving fatwas about a specific fiqh question is another matter and I don't think many of us here are qualified to do that. |
