~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* “Whoever turns away from my Sunnah has nothing to do with me.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, al-Nikaah, 4675) ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Kul amantu biLlahi thummas taqim. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Allahumansur al mujahideen fee KULLI makaan. ameen. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Allahul musta'aan. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* "If America is now pointing fingers at us, it will be the third imperialistic attack on our country. During the British and Russian invasions of years past, there was no Osama bin Laden or Taliban, so don't blame Osama. I swear by Allah that if we hand over Osama, even then the Americans will look for excuses to attack." Mullah Muhammad `Umar, Ameer-ul-Mu'mineen of Afghanistan ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Khawf (fear) and rajaa' (hope) complement one another. The similitude of the heart in its travel to Allah is like a bird. Love is its head, and khawf and rajaa' are the wings. When the head and both wings are sound, the bird is capable and skilled in flying. However, when the head is cut off, the bird will die. When the bird loses a wing, it then becomes a target for every hunter and predator. - Ibn Qayyim al-Jawzeyah ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Islam is not a new religion founded by Muhammad, but a final restatement of the original revelation that has been conveyed to humanity by messengers and prophets sent by Allah for that very purpose: "This day I have perfected your religion for you, completed My favor upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion" (5:3). As the Qur'an is the final revelation and Muhammad is the final prophet, humanity is obligated to accept it: "If anyone desires a religion other than Islam, never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who have lost all spiritual good" (3:86). ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* "You desire salvation, yet, you do not tred its path; Verily, the ship does not sail upon dry land." - from the poetry of Imaam Ash-Shaafi'ee ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Whoever has three things discovers the sweetness of iman: that Allah and His Messenger are more beloved to him than all else, that he loves another only for the sake of Allah Most High, and that he hates to return to kufr (disbelief) as he would hate to be thrown into fire." Muslim & Bukhari ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Ibn Mas`ood, raDiallaahu `anhu, said: "True knowledge is not measured in relationship to how much you memorize and then narrate, but rather, true knowledge is an expression of piety [protecting oneself from what Allaah prohibited and acting upon what He mandated]. "Also, "Study and act upon what you learn." [Related by Abu Na`eem] ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Narrated Abu Huraira: Some poor people came to the Prophet and said, "The wealthy people will get higher grades and will have permanent enjoyment and they pray like us and fast as we do. They have more money by which they perform the Hajj, and 'Umra; fight and struggle in Allah's Cause and give in charity." The Prophet said, "Shall I not tell you a thing upon which if you acted you would catch up with those who have surpassed you? Nobody would overtake you and you would be better than the people amongst whom you live except those who would do the same. Say "Sub-han-al-lah", "Alhamdu-lillah" and "Allahu Akbar" thirty three times each after every (compulsory) prayer." We differed and some of us said that we should say, "Subhan-al-lah" thirty three times and "Alhamdu lillah" thirty three times and "Allahu Akbar" thirty four times. I went to the Prophet who said, "Say, "Subhan-al-lah" and "Alhamdu lillah" and "Allahu Akbar" all together for thirty three times."
