| slm here is a thread where i posted the introduction of whyislam dawah project.. a dawah project that originated 2 years back in nj, US and alhumdolillah became a national dawah project of ICNA. [url]http://www.jannah.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl/YaBB.pl?board=general&action=display&num=5049[/url] 1-877-WHYISLAM is a toll free no that anyone can call and ask questions about islam. this number is heavily advertised in radio, tv ads, billboards, banners and other ways. please read the thread for more detailed information... on an average there has been alhumdolillah 2 shahadahs per week.. about the project.. this report is old.. i would post a new one insha'Allah pretty soon..:) Toll free number 1-877-WHYISLAM calls handled by sister volunteers all day. The person calling is informed on Islam by trained dawah volunteers. www.whyislam.org exclusive for Da’wah purposes. The website is database enabled and is equipped with necessary infrastructure to accommodate the needs of any modern customer service department of a professional corporation. The visitor’s requests are being fulfilled and tracked online. The visitors can read Da’wah brochures online, can order brochures by mail, can request for a visit of a near by Masjid, can request for an one-to-one email etc. Da’wah stalls for the whole day at major shopping malls in New Jersey on regular basis. Malls provide the space and table/chairs while ICNA provides the volunteers and literature for FREE distribution. In addition to brochures, FREE copies of Al-Quran, Towards Understanding Islam by Shaikh Mawdudi and Brief Illustrated Guide are also distributed. There is a dawah booth setup every month at any mall in NJ Professionally built billboards are leased on state highways to propagate the message of Al-Islam. The billboards advertise toll free line 877-WHY-ISLAM and website whyIslam.org. Two major advertisement companies, PNE Media and Outdoor Systems, have entered into a long-term relationship with ICNA and provided special rates to use this method of advertisement to communicate the word of Allah to general public. Da’wah in Prisons by email network has 22 volunteers enrolled to communicate with new reverts or interested non-Muslims. Every week, 4-5 letters get answered via this network. Da’wah Programs at major Campuses organized with the co-operation of local MSAs. "New Muslim Welcome Package" has been distributed among the new reverts at the Shahadah time. One-to-one meetings for new reverts has been organized and mentors are assigned for different brothers and sisters. 5000 bumper stickers of 877-Why-Islam have been printed and distributed. Da’wah booths have been set up at major community fairs in NJ area. Free brochures have been distributed. Local community based newspapers (readership of 80,000) published advertisements about Project Why Islam inviting people to call 877-WHY-ISLAM or visit WhyIslam.org website to get more information about Al-Islam. wlm ahmer |

| Assalamu'alaykum. Cool. so its a da'wah type thing? Here in the UK we have stalls and and stuff outside busy shopping places where people can just pick up a leaflet about Islam,or ask the person attending the stall...dunno if you have something like that there. But the fact that its advertised greatly and stuff is very good..alhamdulillah. :) Ma'assalaam Zakira |
