assalaamu alaikum

I've never been to these restaurants before but i think they're quite popular.

Dear Mr [xxxx]

Thank you for your enquiry regarding the authenticity of our Halal
foods at Nando's. We purchase our wings, chickens and burgers from Dibs Distribution. They in turn source their raw chickens from Freemans of Newent. Both of these companies are Halal Food Authority approved.

Nando's currently have 8 restaurants (Bayswater, Bethnal Green,
Dalston, Hounslow, Star City (Birmingham), Didsbury (Manchester) Stroud Green and Slough) serving Halal chickens, wings and burgers.  These outlets sell no Haram food.  In fact we sell a beef product in our other 40 stores but as of yet have not been able to source consistently good quality Halal beef and the result is that none of our Halal outlets sell the Prego Beef Roll.

Our Marinades, bastes and sauces are made from oil (vegetable)
chillies, lemons, garlic, vinegar and spices.

Our restaurants are not HFA approved.  This is due to the fact that we serve alcohol and this is a sticking point in all discussions with the HFA.

May I suggest that when drinking a soft drink in our Nando's restaurants, you ask for a paper take-away cup.  This will eliminate your concerns as to whether or not alcohol has previously been served in the glass.

Once again thank you for your interest and if you have any concerns
don't hesitate to contact me on 0208 8961432.

Yours sincerely
