Bismillah and salam,

Alhemdulilah I have been given the opportunity to spend a certain amount in the way of buying books for the purpose of dawah to non-muslims. These will probably be put in the public library if we work it all out insha'Allah. First, make dua that they are welcomed and useful, then please suggest your top ten books for that purpose (da'wah of non-muslims)

asalaamu alaikum,

"The Bible, The Quraan and Science" by Maurice Bucaille- only $6 at the bookstore I bought it from :)

Oh and a nice short one with pretty pictures- "A Brief Illustrated Guide to Understanding Islam".

Ahmed

lucky you :)

I'd definitely put in "Daughters of Another Path" by Carole Anway. It was really the first book I read in connection with Islam and I really liked it.
I'd put in the Martin Lings book on Muhammad too. It's written really nicely and is very informative.

I mentioned these two, because there may be a chance that some  people would like to  read a book that doesn't have an "Arab sounding name" as an author. Although I could be mistaken.

Good luck and have fun! Insha Allah.

Bismillah and salam,

Jazakum Allahu khayran.

Here is the breakdown so far. Please let me know if there is a category important missing.

-Copies of the Quran.

-islam and science: 3 book-set by Maurice Bucaille

-Convert stories: Carole L's "daughters of another path"
AND Jerffery Lang's "Even angels ask"
AND Asad's "Road to mecca"
(In case the $ is short, if someone has read both lands and asad's could you tell me which was better?)

-Basics of Islam: Complete idiot's guide to understanding Islam AND "brief illustrated guide..."
AND "Islam the natural way"

-Muhammad saws: Martin Ling's "Muhammad:HIs life based on..."

Now these categories aren't filled yet, PLEASE make suggestions:

-Video: PBS doc. "Islam: empire of faith"  (*please suggest another one, maybe one with lectures? anyone seen the soundvision dawah pack vids?)

-Art/architec/culture/civ: **henna? calligraphy? muslim historic contributions to..

-Children: **a children's story?

-Women: **something that discusses how women contributed to islam as well as were elevated by it.

-Famous Muslims:  ***yusuf Islam or malcom X book?

-dispelling misconceptions: ***human rights in Islam, peace, etc

May Allah reward all those that help insha'Allah by gaining some of the reward when anyone benefits insha'Allah.
