Salam,

I almost never come in here..I think this is only my second time venturing into this forum..^_^

Anyway..

Is there a Muslim community in Wales? Have any of you been to Wales?

I really want to visit Wales some day, that's why I'm asking..Recently I met a sr who lived in Ireland and England for a long time..when I told her of my desire to visit Wales, she gave me this baffled look and said (with her cool semi-British semi-Irish accent).."Why would you want to visit that bog?"

She doesn't think too highly of Wales..^_^

So what do you all think...is Wales worth visiting?

I remember driving through Wales when we got the ferry to Swansea and wanted to get another ferry from Dover to Calais.
The scenery was *breathtaking*. If you are into lovely scenery, natural beauty, mountains and stuff, then go there. It's lovely.
If you're more of a "city" type, and can't go for 24 hours without a shopping spree, then maybe you shouldn't go.
I was always fascinated by the Welsh language and dead impressed that all the people still spoke Welsh. Not like in Ireland, where a small minority speak the language on a daily basis.
So I say "Go to Wales!!" :)  At least then you can see for yourself what it's like if nothing else.

Aww,

Ay I've been to Wales, very nice. Travel as much as you can, Britains a small island, seriously if you've got a car and some kewl friends do some travelling in the UK. Cardiff has a strong muslim community.

This year I'm either gonna go fishing up North in Scotland or go swimming/surfing  at the cornish coast. Sadly, its only gonna be a brothers do, insha-allah.

Salam,

Wales is part of the United Kingdom..^_^

I have lived all my life in a city and would like to get away someday (even though I love city life)..I'm not the shopping type..except when it comes to books ^_^

Good alhamdullilah..My image of Wales has been restored ^_^.. before I spoke with that sr I imagined Wales to be a peaceful/serene place with misty mountians, green rolling hills..a shepherd's haven..^_^

Wales is really the only country in Europe I would like to visit..(maybe with the exception of Spain)..

That's cool that they still speak Welsh..I think I read somewhere or maybe it was from my Old English prof last yr.. that there are some villages that do not speak any English at all.. only Welsh, to preserve the language..

Wales seems like a very cool place..it has an interesting Medieval history as well..

BroHanif: fishing's boring go surfing..^_^

salam

I've rambled on too long
