I once read Ibn Hazm saying something like this :

"If someone criticizes you, you should be happy.  Because either the criticizm is correct, in which case it will help you to improve yourself, but if it is wrong, then you will be paid back on the Day of Judgement".

So just remember that if anyone wrongs you in this life, you will be getting their good deeds on the day of judgment, and also be able to throw your sins on them.  Keep this in mind next time someone does soemthing bad to you, and Insahllah this will help you be patient about it.

Aww,

I think this is a tough one, I've got a situation at work where one guy constantly sighs, you know the deep ones like sighhhhhh and naggs. The other day he told me off for moving the keyboard, today he told me off for tapping on the desk :), I were thinking man why be a fuddy duddy just chil out man. I get on well with the other collegues however, this guy sits is just strange.
Anyway I don't let him get to me, I say to myself, its just work and nothing lasts forever, and simply walk away from him in a professional manner.
Lifes to short to start nagging and getting into trival stuff, there are more important things to worry about.
Insha-allah I'll post some more later on.

Apologies if i hijack this thread. Sometimes when i'm having a meeting with a senior, just out of nowhere, some crazy thing comes into my head. Like, for example, i'll be sitting there and then the thought will come to my head "i wonder what would happen if someone threw a custard pie into his face.." and haha.. i can't stop from smiling when that happens.

Anyway, sometimes all you gotta do with people you don't particularly like is be your normal self and try not to be affected by them.

You should give him a kiss on the cheek, a brotherly kiss, to lighten him up a bit! The guy sounds like he needs to relax and chill out, so you know, just a little cheeky peck of something to wind him up ;)

If peopel are winding you up, or getting to you, the best thing to do is try not to think about. The more you think about it, the more it makes your blood boil, and the angrier you become, and the more you wanna lash out, or retaliate.

The best thing is to stay out of the peoples way who annoy you, and try not to think about them. If you must think about them, then try to imagine them skipping along like happy little 7 year old girls, and imagine them  guys with little pretty flowers in thier hair!!!

But its bst to not think about them, because the more you think about them annoying you, the more it eats away at you and the angrier you become. Take you mind of it, watch something funny on TV, or just check out the sisters cafe, they usually talk about things that would make anyone laugh!!

Brother mujahids answer to easing stress and office politics in the office. ;). I'm glad I don't work in the same place as you.

I get enough side remarks from talking to women and I certainly ain't gonna get to brotherly with the men.

Ameen siddiqui..

It also helps to think of other things when the person is annoying you. For example, if he is talking to you rudely or saying stuff to you that is not true, think of s/thing else, like Allah (SWT) and how much He will reward you for your patience Insha'Allah. That always seems to help me, or to just say Bismillah. When you say Bismillah it makes Shaitan weaker and he gets smaller so his effect on you is less. So, insha'Allah you will have more patience.

May Allah (SWT) give you patience and strength and all of us as well. Ameen.
