Women who are having their period are not allowed in the prayer section of a masjid, from what I understand.

What about "prayer areas" at home, dawah centers, and schools?

Kathy there is a difference of opinion on that issue....:) From what I understand it depends on your need.. like if you have to pass through that area or if you need to be there to teach a class or attend something...

As salamu alaykum,

Welcome back Jannah.  By any chance do you have information that allows a sisters to stay in the mosque for any amount of time when she has her period?  I know that there are different opinions, but in Fiqh us-Sunnah there are only hadith that state that you can't stay in the mosque.  I really would like to have information that allows a women to stay in the mosque.  Jazakum Allah khair.

As salamu alaykum

wlm,

thanx marcie..:) the opinion only applies to "islamic centers" like we have here in the west, because the centers also hold islamic classes and such and include other rooms like classrooms and a kitchen, hall etc. so the idea is that if there is a class or she needs to drop off her children or needs to pass through the area for something she can enter the islamic center. and Allah knows best..
