For those of you who remember waaaaay back before the Madina closed for the summer, I started a thread in which I posted du'as from the Qur'an.  I'm going to start up the thread again but starting from Surah Aal - Imran (surah number 3). For the dua's from Surah Baqarah - you should inshallah be able to find the thread herehttp://www.jannah.org/cgi-bin/madina/YaBB.pl?board=archives;action=display;num=1020093009

I will be updating the thread at least 1/2 times a week, and more than that if I have the time.  If I have made any mistake may Allah swt forgive me - if you see any mistakes please point them out so that I can fix them - jazakallahu khairun.

The translation is from: “A Summarized Version of At-Tabari, Al-Qurtubi and Ibn Kathir with comments from Sahih Al-Bukhari By Dr. Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din Al-Hilali, Ph.D. Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan”

jazakallah khair for this thread :)
i just started reading 'Du'a the weapon of the believers' and would just like to quote something i read from it..

In surah Ghafir, aayah 6,
'And your Lord has stated: Make du'a to Me, i will (of a surety) respond to you. Verily, those who are too arrogant to worship Me will enter the Fire of Hell, humiliated.'

Du'a and the seeking of protection from Allah are like weapons, but the sharpnessof a weapon is not sufficient for it to cause effect, for the person that handles it also plays a role. So whenever the weapon is a perfect one, having no flaw in it, and the forearm is strong, and there are no preventing factors, then it will cause an effect on the enemy...' This is really a very useful thread.  However, I have a humble request to all our readers that in order to make optimum use of our dua's, we must take "actions" on the teachings of the Holy Quran and the sunnah.  In Surat Al-Asr, Allah Subhan wa Ta'la says "illillazeena amanoo, wa amalus salahte".  So we must believe in HIM and perform good deeds and at the same time seek His mercy through dua'a to shower His blessings on us.

wassalam,

[slm] sister

what is happening is that so far you have taken the Arabic in image form, and posted a link to the site from which you take the Arabic.

If you take it in Arabic text format, copy it, and paste it, there would be no problem.

a good site is

http://quran.nu/

here are the last two duas in Arabic you posted

16.
"My Lord! Verily, I have wronged myself, so forgive me." Then He forgave him. Verily, He is the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.

24.
"My Lord! Truly, I am in need of whatever good that You bestow on me!"

_________

Have I got it right?

you will need internet explorere 6 for all functions of the site.

There are other sites, too, like

http://www.Quraan.com/
________

there is some way to increase the font size too, but i can't find it on jannah.org help. I think I will ask her.

click "View" on your internet explorer menu, a submenu pops up, roll down to "Encoding", click on "Arabic (Windows)", if it is there, and you will be able to see Arabic.

If Arabic font isn't installed on your computer, get your installer CD, and try installing from there.

I have increased the font size of the Arabic text as per instructions of jannah.

this is how you do it:
