| Assalamu Alaikum, There will be an *awesome* camp and conference in the first week in January in Toronto.. the confernce is supposd to be the biggest ever in TO ;D. Due to the enormous response, the venue has been changed to accomodate as many participants as possible. The Reviving the Islamic Spirit conference will be held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, in Downtown Toronto. Lectures will be held in the North Building in the Constitution Hall. Metro Toronto Convention Centre 255 Front Street West Toronto, Ontario M5V 2W6 For directions please visit: http://www.mtccc.com/directions.asp Tickets will be sold for $25 at the door on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2003, starting at 8:00 am. All ticket sales will be on a "First Come First Serve" basis. Only Cash will be accepted. What are the timing/schedule of the conference? The conference will be held on January 4th and 5th (Saturday and Sunday). It is expected to start at 9:00 am, but we encourage everyone to come early. On Saturday the conference is expected to end at night at around 10:00 pm. The conference will again commence on Sunday morning starting at 9:00 am and will last till late evening, at around 9:00 pm. A tentative agenda for the conference will insha'Allah be available approximately five days before the conference, on the conference website. | Assalam Alaikum, The conference was amazing masha-Allah. I was impressed. All the speakers were great masha-Allah but there were a few that stood out for me. I've heard Dr. Tareq Suwaidan speak in Arabic before but this was first time I've ever heard him speak in English. He was great even though I don't agree with everything he says... but masha-Allah does he have sense of humour or what? I don't think I have ever laughed so much at a conference..^_^. Other than Dr. Tareq Suwaidan I also liked the speeches given by Imam Zaid Shakir and Dr. Abdal Hakim Murad. It was the first time I've heard them speak. Sr Ingrid Mattson was good as well. May Allah reward all those who helped make this event possible. salam, merimda |

I think this is the first time right?? so wat did he talk about???? wat was his topic? Do u know by any chance if they gonna have this program online to hear??? ok anyway gtg. [slm] |

| [slm] Wasn't the conference such a sucess??! Tariq Suwaidan is such a joker...and yet everything he said made so much sense! His lecture on leadership was clearly outstanding and one of a kind!! Zakir Naik was also mashallah a great speaker. This brother could quote the surah name, the chapter number and the verse along with the transliteration -OFF The TOP of HIS HEAD! Mashallah!! Muneer Al-Kassem, Siraj Wahaj (make up = fake up :D ) and Yusuf Estes were also outstanding! |
