| i am sure no one really cares about mine but here goes: it is not military, it is my corporation initials and the est is estimating and the 2 is because when i registered originally on here is screwed it up and could never log on as lt corpest1 so i couldn't register as 1. and besides i have absolutely no imagination. |

| I'm surprised not alot of people posted ??? I chose Emerald because it's my favorite gemstone, it sounds nice, and the color green for some reason of which I have no idea has some symbolic meaning in Islam. ( :-[ I may add this question as a thread ) I also went by the name It Don't Matter for awhile because it had been late at night when I registered and my thought process was going through a dry spell. ;D |

| [slm] Yeppers there was a thread previously on this and the results were hilarious :) However, to just participate in a newcomer's curiousity, I shall oblige. My imagination is, like Bro Itcorpest2 there, as vast as the universe. Thus, previous name Solehah cos it's me daughter's name and it's a nickname given to me in my truant-playing schooldays. Current name UmmWafi cos my elder child's name is Wafi. See ...told ya I am so very imaginative. Now, about the rest. Barr chose her name because, when asked, she replied "He he he..guess you just hafta guess Sis UmmWafi". Abu Hamzah chose Abu Hamzah over his previous saner one because he is jealous of us Abus and Umms. Sis Se7en chose that name cos she has had fun having to kill off the 7 peeps who knew why. Bro Bhaloo chose his name cos, long long ago, in a Jannah.Org far far away, it has something to do with teddy bears heh heh Bro Hanif (not the doctor) chose that name cos he gets some kind of thrill explaining to peeps his is the one with 1 F. | ah! I had to go get the dictionary and see what esoteric "really" means! Kathy is my real name , meaning pure. When I first came on the net, I choose to use my real name so that I would not say or do anything I would be ashamed of. One sister met a girl from my home town and asked her if there was really a Muslimah Kathy here! When I became Muslim I choose an Arab name, because I thought I had to. the moment I learned otherwise, I went right back to Kathy. I also, did it for educational/dawah reasons. I am an American and a Muslim.... It's about time that Americans realize that there are Muslims who are American and their names are Kathy, Eleanor, Emily, John and even maybe a Mike! ;) |

She thinks if she lifts enough weights she will somehow become shorter ;D Se7en's name comes from her interest in the 7 deadly sins. And the corresponding film of course. Jannah, unoriginally, took her name from the famous website jannah.org. Kathy called herself Kathy because of her feline tendencies... Should I continue... :-/ :-/ :-/ |

| [slm] theOriginal cause I'm really not. It was merely an attempt to give my ego a boost. :'( :'( :'( Okay okay that was not EXACTLY true. The real reason has to do with a documentary I saw on the making of my one of my favorite novels (A Stone Angel). The author (Margaret Laurence), explained something about how originality is a myth, which is ironic, because it happens to be a very normal human quest....it penetrated my diminutive brain, and I ended up using it as one of my many aliases on MSN. (I was using it at the time I signed up at the madina...so i stuck with it here.) Besides, my real name is kinda boring (no offence to anyone who shares it with me).... The fake reason is oh-so-much more entertaining, but in any case, it doesn't imply that I have any original talents whatsoever....(except perhaps being able to eat a whole jar of peanut butter within a day)... even though I remain forever, an indebted fan of creativity. Wasalaam. SF. |

Anyway, I love fish, especially raw ;D and my friend, knowing that "I can eat sashimi, like people drink water" decided to give me this title "Abu Sashimi." I always say to myself, that if I were to be stranded on a desert island in the south pacific... all I need is a spear to hunt fish and I'm set! JK! :-/ As for "se7en", I thought the 7 is supposed to be the letter "Hha" in Arabic, like how some people would use it; as in "Al-7amdu Lillah."
