Having Jitters!

Salam to all

my driving test is in 6 days' time and i'm like  :P ... i still just can't get over having not 1 but 3 immediate failures during my first time round !!! ....... mounting the kerb, knocking down a pole  ;D ..., rolling backward from the slope .......... i just got  :o the moment the tester sits beside me and the rest was history!  :D

anyone have any 'tips' on how to be *cool, relaxed and calm*?  ???  some simple short duaa maybe? (one that i can memorise easily and not having it out of my brain the moment i see the tester??!!) ... i just hope that i'll make it this time round. (Insya'Allah)

Do remember ma in your duaa. J/K

Just make sure you are practicing alot driving all over the place. Whenever your family needs to go somewhere jump in the driver's seat.  Once you practice enough you'll be ready, calm and collected.  Most of the time I've seen people with very little practice go take their driver's test and when you're nervous and under strain inexperience does show...

walaikum asalam :)

Insha'Allah you'll pass!!! Driving is such a big n'imah  :-X  Recite Ayat-ul-Kursi and the Du'a when you you leave your house, ALWAYS wear a seat belt!!! I use to take that very lightly but one of my friends would refuse to drive us until we would fasten our seat belts. Also, as jannah said pratice a lot , i honestly feel that it takes  about 1 year to really become a decent driver and for people like me ha ha its a life long process..
So insha'Allah khair  :-X

bismillah..
assalamu alaikum

dear sis nora, try to cool your nerves by keeping things in perspective. i am sure that you have done tougher things in the past, just remember that.  take a deep breath when you start the car, say bismillah (plus dua, Qura'an) and Allah will be with you insha'Allah.

a nice dua in addition to reciting ayatul kursi is the following:

"allahumma laa sahla illa ma ja3alta sahla, anta taj3alu al-hazna in shi'ta sahla"

O Allah nothing is easy except for what you make easy, you make the hard -if you will- easy.

take care

thanks Jannah. But i can't do that  :(  ... i dunno how the system works in your area but in singapore, one is not allowed to drive on the road/circuit without the presence of the driving instructor. . . its an offence. So, the only time i can practise is after work and it is soooo expensive to learn driving here ... S$65 (equivalent to abt US$25-$30 maybe?) per 100 mins. But Alhamdulillah with the help of my personal financiers (i.e my parents ;D)Insya'Allah i'll be having practise everyday till the test day.

Sis AyeshaZ ... J/K ... it is so true wat you said, driving is a big ni'mah and thanks for the advice. (Insya'Allah i'll be able to recite the Ayatul Kursi)  :)

Sis Kathy  ;D  :-/ LOL  :-/  ;D

dunno you worry, i don't think you need to worry abt me driving on the same road with you  ;) we being so far awayyyy ... maybe Sis UmmWafi & Sis Barr should be let known  :D
