Well, we would have agreed with you only a year ago but we say this after having attended last year's retreat and seen the unbelievable effects of the retreat on each of the participants, subhanAllah. Here's a personal reflection from the last Tarbiya & 'Ilm retreat experience: http://www.masyouthboston.org/TICamp/personal The aims for the retreat are three-fold: 1) Spiritual: To draw us closer to Allah and take our interaction with Him to a level that we have never experienced before and to learn what it truly means to be God oriented and God conscious. 2) Brotherhood/Sisterhood: To get to know each other, learn, sleep, pray and have immense fun together.
