| Teams reach Destination 1 of Amazing Race MadinaWire - 17 of the 19 Amazing Race teams arrived on time for the Wednesday 12PM deadline, reported game officials. The teams have been participating in a virtual web race that plans to visit 7 different destinations in the Islamic World. "It's all about learning more about the diversity of Islam and the Muslim World", explains Phil, host of this year's show. "I really see it as a coming together and opening of horizons for all of us." Host of sister show The Amazing Audience, Himy AlTorontonian says that it was shocking that two teams didn't reach even the first destination. "It was a darn easy question, they could have at least submitted any type of answer! But you never know, they could easily come back and get all the other questions right and even reach some places first and that would make up for their initial loss." Ahluqman and Peace, who entered Jerusalem first to find the answer to a riddle, were the recipients of the bonus point. "It was all worth it.. staying up all night until 3am drinking all that zamzam bebzi [sic]!!!", said Ahluqman who writes Hajj safety books in his spare time. Expert commentators on the game are divided on predictions for the ultimate winner. Abdul Basir of AbdulBasir I won once and I'm a stayin' a Champion notes that initially it is very difficult to spot a winner but over time a consistent team usually shows up. "But I really think it will be a brother team, they seem like they could go the distance." "No way!", is the reaction of Sophia, winner of the last reality game Who wants to be a Mu'min?. | MADINA NEWS NETWORK There was a scene of confusion in Damascus, Syria last night, as teams sloped in tired but victorious on reaching Destination 2. The teams all headed for different pizza joints, keen on being the first to get that crucial bonus point and to get in an order of pizza and ice-cream. As this goes to wire, it is however not clear how many teams have actually reached Damascus, and whether any used their fast-forward option. Brother Abu Hamza has expressed his disapproval of Phil's "slacking" and wants to know pronto what the latest scores are. Not content with dissing the organiser of the contest, Hamza's Daddy went on to diss participant se7en who was quietly enjoying a large bebsi and an ice cream sundae in a particularly dark corner, with her team mate, panjul, a vaguely familiar looking girl but decidedly shady with her large dark glasses. "You can't eat sundaes and drink bebsi together!", sneered Abu H., "the ice cream makes the bebsi taste awful!!!". Sister se7en whistled over the Sistahs Mafia and when they encircled the *cough*talented*cough* basketball player, he soon slunk back off to his Texan teammate. There is definitely a sisters/brothers rivalry going on in this particular Madina competition, with both sides certain that victory will be theirs. | [color=blue][size=4][move]MADINA NEWSFLASH::::::::MADINA NEWSFLASH::::::[/move][/size][/color] Sunday January 26, China; Madina Teams are beginning to get worried about the whereabouts of Phil. Having not been seen since the last destination, in Damascus, Syria, many of the competitors and audience members are starting to wonder what has happened to the chief organiser of the Amazing Race. "It's just not like Phil to disappear", commented Brother bhaloo, who made it to this stage of the Race with no difficulty. However, one competitor who wishes to remain anonymous 8) had the following statement to make - "Phil has been known to have a weakness for a good sundae... if you offer her a nice ice-cream sundae and maybe some pizza, there's no telling when she will ever leave again" Neutral observers have said that it was a big mistake making the second destination an ice-cream and pizza place. "We all know that Phil just wanted to get back to A&M's" they said. Many are in fact wondering if this means the end of the Amazing Race, since scores have no longer been tallied and answers not posted. "It's just not on!" fumed Brother Himy, organiser of sister show "Amazing Audience". "Phil knows right well that the success of my show lies in the copying and pasting of answers.. how the heck is that supposed to happen if the original answers aren't posted in the first place!!!" Exuding an air of calm is Sister Barr, from Singapore. "Don't worry Brothers and Sisters, after all, the clue to Destination 4 has been posted, which means that the Race will go on!!" Oh yes, the Race [i]will[/i] go on...... Watch this space. |
