| Salaams all, I'll keep this short, I'm thinking of creating a website or an e-group that will report on the true effects of the war in Iraq. Rather than hearing our sources from the BBC(Bush and Blair Corporation) or the Muslim loving CNN and Fox News I'm thinking perhaps we could show people or educate people what's really happening. If you are interested let me know by email or post here. I don't wanna really post all news articles over here but if Jannah's ok with that then thats a different matter. Another reason why I'm asking is the amount of resource required, sure you can get a website or e-group up within minutes but its the community that makes a difference not a one man band(even though it feels like that at times). | hey that's a wicked idea!!! We can get at the REAL TRUTH!! That would be so cool, as I'm trying to educate my non-muslim friends about stuff that really happens in the world (and most of it is directed at the ummah). Am trying to get them to see beyond the lies about so many matters. Hey u have my vote. |

| [slm] thats a gr8 idea ...... I think u can also include ( this is just a suggestion ) reports form diff countries as to muslims reactions, what is being done and how they are affected by the impending war. Posts can come from members of this global board . [wlm] |

| This is a great idea but there are some serious logistical issues to consider: 1. Who is going to be the unbiased "War correspondent"? 2. Even if there is someone on the "inside", is the general public willing to take their word over ABC/NBC/CNN... which they see in all it's jazzy glory on network television everyday? Here the network news channels are so pathetic that they have a common "theme" running across all channels. No matter which news channel you turn to there is a tickertape headline "Showdown with Saddam" somewhere on the screen. Before this, it was the "War on Terror". Personally, I'd think twice before participating in such a forum because unless your an American citizen, it would be impossible to post any criticism of US policy online without having Uncle sam come knocking on my door. | I would certainly be interested, but balanced reporting is a must. Bush is not the devil and Saddam is not the second coming. As for unbiased corasponding, do you know anyone in iraq to ask normal people how they fell about Saddam? Chris |

| people should listen/read democracy now free speech radio news and read noam chomsky/howard zinn for true stroys on this subject to listen to democracy now you can go to www.democracynow.org |

| Yunus, I listen to democracy now on KPFK and it is another perspective but true would be a huge stretch. |
