| [slm] to everyone! It's great being on this list! This intro is kinda late since I've already posted some messages, but like the cliche goes, it's better late than never. I'm a 28-year-old Muslim woman born and raised in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E., but currently living in Bangalore, India. I work for a transcription company. I like reading and watching TV in my spare time. My favorite author is Gerald Durrell and fav. book, "My Family and Other Animals." I have a huge collection of Archie comics (yeah, I know, 28 and still reading comics? ::) ???), and I love Dilbert too. Favorite food is anything fried, roasted, grilled, BBQ'd, etc. but halal, of course, and I prefer Coke, not Bebzi []; my teeth are paying for it, or rather I'm having to pay for my teeth (just got 2 root canals done. ouuuuuuuuuccccccccchhhhh! teeth-wise and wallet-wise) Okay, I'm rambling. :) Basically, I'm here to make friends and learn more about my religion, so I hope we can share our thoughts and ideas, and this can be a prolific experience for all of us! | Wa'alaikumussalam warahmatullah :) Welcome, Cyma! Yup, better late than never :) Is your name pronounced as Saima? Coz, if it is, I think U've got a cool way to spell it, mashaALlah :) How long ahve U bee in in India? Planning to stay there for good? I've been to India, once, alhamdulillah. To Calcutta. I've got a very close sister (in Islam) there. We were housemates once and attended the same uni. Is Tamil Nadu near there? I met a sister from Tamil Nadu, in the bus last night. But she is living in Saudi with her husband. She reminds me of india and the sister and her family... and I'm kinda missing them. Hope to see more of you, inshaALlah :) Wassalam |

| Thanks to all you cuties for the warm welcome! :) You're right, Sis Barr, but I chose the spelling "Cyma" only for this list. My name is spelled in the common way, "Saaima." I've been in Bangalore for more than 3 years now. Love the city, but can't get used to the pollution. Nice to hear about your friend. Tamil Nadu is a state which shares its border with the state of Karnataka of which Bangalore is the capital. So your new friend and I would be neighbors! Yeah, I can understand missing old friends. I always try and remember the good times though. This usually cheers me up but makes me sad at the same time. :-* :( Sigh. |
