problems of health and salat

salam to all,

In the last 3-4 months, i have performed daily salat very regularly, being at home most of the time i had the opportunity of doing 5 salats at the proper time.
As an habit, most of the time i would make wudu before praying, cause between a prayer and another i couldn't keep my body "pure" and also some muslim friends suggested that it's better always to make wudu straight before each prayer.

the problem is, i live in a place with a quite wet and cold weather, and my house in particular is wet and freezy expecially in the morning; so although i made wudu with hot water, paying attention not to catch cold, i developed a bad health and i have become very  easy  to catch fever ecc..
in particular, i have developed an irritation of the nostril because i wasn't used to sniffing water into them and when i do, they bleed a little and i have all these sort of problems with my nose as i were a cocaine addict! :o

some muslim friend suggested me to make wudu without water (like that they do in the desert) with some sort of powder untill my health is ok again; for now i have reduced the wudu, for example i just wash the nostrils without sniffing water and i try to mantain the state of purity so to reduce the number of wudu.

i wonder if any of u ever had the same problems or if u have some tips or suggestions.

I have a similar problem.  I keep needing to go to the loo, so I always have to make wudu'u jus b4 I pray, as I can't keep it for long.  However, I can only really suggest to u that there is no need to use water for ur nostrils.  Thats just an act of sunnah.  There is a verse in the Qu'raan which I don't kw by heart, but maybe somebody could give u more details about it, that just states that to do wudu'u when u have access to water, it is enough just to wash ur face, arms up to elbows, put ur hands over ur head (wipe ur head), and to wash ur feet up to and including ur ankles.  I don't kw if this helps.

I too live in a very cold area and am always shivering, so ur not alone in that respect.  Hope things get better for u insh'Allaah.

I'll try and find out the verse for u

wa salaam
