Imam Ahmed Sirhindi's experience ------------------------------------------ Another time he asked a disciple, Salih Khatlani, to bring a few cloves from his pouch. The Shaikh expressed displeasure when he saw that Salih had brought six cloves. He said, "My Sufi seems to be ignorant of the Hadith that Allah is witr and He loves witr. It is commendable to keep in view the odd numbers of witr. But what do the people know of commendable acts? Even if this world and the next were awarded to some one for performing something liked by God, it would not be really a sufficient reward." (Literally Witr means odd number) Note: The Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam preferred odd number as it was more pleasing to Almighty: "..Allah is one and He loves the witr" [At-Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud] May Allah help us to follow sunnah of His Beloved sallallahu alaihi wa sallam at every moment of our life, at all levels of mind- whether we are conscious, subconscious or unconscious! Aameen! |

"But no, by your Lord, they can have no Faith, until they make you judge in all disputes between them, and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, and accept (them) with full submission." Assalamu'alaikum, Subhallah...This reminds me of something, that happened a few years ago. I was at a sister's place, you know.. chilling out after uni. And she was cooking some stuff. So, I was helping her... and she said.. get some cardamon and put in the pot. So, I was like .. is this enough? and she said.. Allah is odd and He loves odd... so, we put in an odd number of cardamons in the pot. And she was telling me, she always put odd number of stuff when she cooks etc. I have this thing about cooking blessed food.. so.. I don't know.. starting from that day... I have this thing about odd numbers too... subhanallah. May Allah bless her. Wassalam :-* |
