Ahhh dreams....I've always wanted to go to Venice and lay down in one of those canoes (did I spell that right?---Anyway),......as they flow underneath the bridges, on a cool clear night when all the stars are out.

Dream # 2 Go to some tropical island. Just to smell the flowers and stand beneath the waterfall (not the raging kind though --hehehe)

Too bad it aint gonna happen! :'(

Assalamu 'alaikum wa Rahamtullaah,

Ok, here I am to break the trend of sisters-only-posting-on-this-thread  ;D
What have you always wanted to do or study but couldn't cause it is not available to you or is not practical?
Forget study! What I always wanted to DO cause it is not available or is NOT PRACTICAL:

U see, the speed of light is 300,000 km/s i-e light covers 300,000 kliometres in one second. One light year is the distance that light travels in a year and is equal to 9,500,000,000,000 kilometers. Now, the farthest galaxy that scientists have discovered latest is 12 billion light years away from us. Can u just imagine how far that is? Yes, that's what I wanna do. I want to be there, I want to see the ends of universe, I want to see the centre of universe, I want to move from planet to planet, galaxy to galaxy.................................. 8) Crazy, isn't it? :D
And imagine, man has reached only moon yet, but how big, huge, vast universe Alah (awj) has created...............and then the Day of Judgement will come soon and everything will be destroyed, and perhaps I'll never ever have a chance to see what different, beautiful worlds out there Allah created.

Wassalam.

Assalamu'alaikum :-)

Welcome to the cafe bro :)... and no.. U don't have to wear the hijab to fit in ;)
perhaps I'll never ever have a chance to see what different, beautiful worlds out there Allah created.
InshaAllah! Never say never, bro :)

You know, in Star Trek.. in the Voyager there's this room where they go to something like a virtual reality room.. and they can cross the amazons, and travel across high seas etc etc... in the room and it seemed real.

And somehow, I imagine, Jannah would have something like that.. only a trillion times better.. where there'll be a place where we are able to visit and enjoy one by one of Allah's creations, in all its splendour and reality (not virtual). Allahua'alam. Just one of my imaginations.. just so much to explore there... so.. enjoy yourself.. I'll be in the next room bouncing in my bubble :) way way way up so high :)

What the eyes have not seen.. what the ears have not heard.. what the mind has not thought of... Jannah.

Wassalam :-)

Actually that's not at all unreasonable.  You're in England, but on Spanish soil. You're in a completely tax-free place (good for shopping ;) ) and you're only a few miles (as the plane flies) from Morocco!  Leave Gibraltar by land, and you're in Spain.  Believe it or not you're making perfect sense.
Plus I think it's quite beautiful there.  The image I have of it (I've never actually been there but my plane landed there on the way to somewhere else) is a huge cliff over the ocean....

Would you believe I have always wanted to have 12 kids? I remember telling people about it when I was 10 years old.

Allah blessed me with 6, and can't have anymore due to health problems.  :'(

Some days I still dream about a life like the in the movie Cheaper by the Dozen. Then, I snap out of it, remind myself that Allah is a far better planner than I, and go have a tea-party with my two girls!

There is absolutely nothing else I want to do! :-X

i've always wanted to be a gazillionaire so that i could travel the world and try and distribute wealth round to those in need..especially innocent starving children.

i get very upset at how many innocent little one's are dying each day due to hunger and illness yet no muslim country is doing anything significant enough to help them...where does all their money go? >:(

and who will help aid the muslims in iraq in this war when they run out of food..who will feed the starving wailing children? :'(

that is why i would love to possess that type of wealth or power to help the muslims and innocents around this world.

anyway getting back to reality... i would like to raise my kids as excellent and extremely intelligent muslims..inshallah...go to hajj and pass away there...inshallah

My dreams are all bound up with knowledge and flying it seems...

Hmm...knowledge.  Deen first of course, then poetry, history, mathematics, medicine and zoology.  Also love art and calligraphy, cooking and textiles (of course I would hate all of it if it wasn't in the right context ie Islam)  Want to build a school in Palestine for poor folk, where anyone can come or send their kids for free.  Want to pat the heads of orphans and push my husband to go give dawah to the people or fight jihad if need be while my children learn to be scholars...

As it is, I can only study one degree at a time, and the chances (at the moment) of even going to, let alone studying in, a Muslim environment are nil...oh, I and I can't so much as boil an egg or replace a broken zipper on my jeans...!

And I want to fly.

What wonderful dreams!
I have been blessed to do a few of the things that were at the top of my list, go to Hajj, have a wonderful child after much difficulty. But I guess the last few things are:
- live to see my first grandchild, to see my daughter find a good life and have a righteous, caring mate and family,
- own a vegetable farm. I would love to grow vegetables (I don't know why, just seems cool) and have one of those roadside stands - I would wear a straw hat over my hijab to keep the sun out of my eyes and dispense a little Islam with every bag of vegetables I sold.  :-*
- become fluent in Arabic - I'm working on it!  ::)
- I too would like to live in the desert, I used to think the beach was the place, but the desert was all that! Would love to retire somewhere like that inshaAllah!
- have money to really help in the world,
- leave the world a better place than it was when I came,
- and of course live and die as a good Muslim.
:-) Muneerah  []
